To give context, Paco and Ca7riel are conservatory musicians at the Juan Pedro Esnaola Music School, Buenos Aires. Their styles were rock, progressive rock, metal, electronic, Progressive House and Urban music (Regeton and others), but without a doubt the fusion of Jazz, Progressive house and tropical is incredible. As for their lyrics, it is very clear that they are sarcastic and even countercultural to Regeton. You should react to BABY GANGSTA by Tiny Desk; and to his Live concerts - Buenos Aires; and his albums (soloists and groups).

"Apóyenlos para que ellos puedan vivir de esto" Me suena a que el señor de este video, haciendo su reacción, no se tomó ni tres segundos de su vida en buscar en Google a los músicos, enterarse que han hecho y que efectivamente ellos "ya viven de esto". Lo hizo porque es el tema de moda... ¬¬

Something I am not sure it translates into the lyrics... that its all a SATIRE , this guys studied on conservatory, they played prog rock as teenagers and where broke, basically they started doing Reagguetton to have fun and they just broke 2 decades of reaggaeton redundancy

I'm glad you pointed out that they were still in half time as the band went to double time. That happens before the pause when they realize they're with the same girl. "El unico" means the only one. They were each telling one side of the story, but as they combined facts & finally realized they were both in the mix, both the music & then finally lyrics went to double time. I am beside myself. And we haven't even gotten to Ca7riel's guitar solo later in the performance

I'm really glad you got the lyrics on this one! As you said, it's a funny song, and I think the playfulness of the lyrics adds to the sense of playfulness in the music as well. Also, if you didn't notice, other than Ca7riel and Paco themselves, those who are part of their usual band are all wearing pictures of their U.S. visas on their shirts! The ones who are wearing shirts with other things on them are sessions musicians they hired in the U.S. I think it really speaks to everyone's talent and professionalism just how well they all gel.

The lyrics matter. Im puerto rican, grew up on reggueton. Theyre making fun of reggueton tropes AND doing word play with well known spanish voice stims. Im so happy I know spanish and the context to get all their jokes and what they're doing contextually. Im not a muscician so its anazing i have that access in the music
@jacobemery27126 күн бұрын
I am recently obsessed with their vibe and music, could you say more about the reggaeton tropes that they’re satirizing or some examples from their music? I find that really interesting. I can’t find much info online about it and have seen a few comments mentioning this! Would love to know more :)
@aldoVerce2 күн бұрын
@miamiare Así es. Es una especie de parodia poblada de los lugares comunes del reggaeton y sus temas. Más que parodia o burla creería que es simple juego y diversión irónica.

As someone who is a native Spanish speaker - their lyrics are very funny, which is part of their charm. They are using the same reggueaton language to make fun of, in a very light way, of it. I wouldn't say its downright satire, but its definitely a critique of. If you're not listening carefully its easy to mistake them are being superficial. Its not as easy to read as say, Jamsha El Putipuerco from Puerto Rico - who absolutely no one took seriously when he came out.
@NaomyQuinones22 күн бұрын
I guess what I want to say is that they're not Weird Al Yankovich, more of a Zappa, if that makes any sense, which makes it even funnier.
