Part of me wishes they hadn't used the vocal harmony backing track for the live version because it just makes it look like she's lip synching. But if you watch their NPR Tiny Desk concert that dropped a couple of days ago, you'll see it's absolutely real. It's just her and Finneas on the Tiny Desk version, no beat drop, much slower, and she adds even more runs. The raw noises that are coming out of her mouth are insane!
@inmyReputation-Era4 жыл бұрын
I LOVED the Tiny Desk performance. All of the extra inflections and runs just felt so good.

I don't understand why it makes it "look like" she's lip syncing. People use backing tracks for live performances all the time.

that's the new family member Shark. When she returned from the aborted tour in March she fostered and then adopted Shark to help her cope with her new life without the 9 month World Tour that ended with only 3 performances in And watch her performance of this song at the Tiny Desk performance. That blows this right out of the water

This is my favorite reaction to this song I've watched. You are just so great! I also really love that you did both the official video and the live performance in one video, it's just such a fun thing to do. The doggy is named Shark. She fostered puppies and adopted him. If you check out some early quarantine videos/home interviews type stuff she's done you get to see him as a tiny little guy and grow through them. It's the best! This was a performance during the democratic convention a week ago, that's why the production is so good. Right, that stage presence! She's such a pro and so confident. I especially love that smile at the end where you know she knows she effing killed it! Honestly, I'd be really interested in watching videos of reactions when the reactor didn't like it as long as the commentary was respectful, which I know yours would be. I'm probably not alone in that if you ever wanna test it out. I completely understand if not, though.

I don't know if it makes sense but when I listen to Billie and Finneas, both of their music, I get these nostalgic feelings. There's something very different about their music that is modern and yet in some ways, very old and wise. I'm so used to superficial crap put on a beat, or the use of autotune, or whatever... and it's so refreshing hearing someone sing lyrics that have depth and meaning and authenticity to them, and deliver them in a such a fresh soothing almost nostalgic way. They are immaculate songwriters.

You take so much joy in analyzing new music and I love your enthusiasm when you find something noteworthy. Your reaction when the backing music was stripped away was a marvel! That point in the song is one where have always felt this little bit of satisfaction but I wasn't sure why. I have to say, one of the reasons I love watching your videos is because I know NOTHING about music from a technical standpoint, and I love it when you point out "THIS is why this part is cool, this is why it's different!" I may have noticed those points before, but I don't have the knowledge to articulate WHY it works for me, I just know that it's good! I have other reactors who I enjoy who are great at breaking down lyrics, but listening to you talk about why the music itself is interesting is fascinating!

Have you seen her performance of Six Feet Under live? One of my favorite songs of hers not and she's maybe 14 singing it. It's so beautiful and it blows my mind that she was singing this well at such a young age. Not even just the singing but the way she holds an audience's attention. Amazing.

I need to join everyone else in the comment section to point at their tiny desk performance for a more acoustic version. As well as the entirety of the Apple Music Awards show (Live at the Steve Jobs Theatre), which is also acoustic. But as someone who listens to all her versions of all her songs on repeat I can point at very minute differences, like a slightly more nasal N or a fraction of a beat difference in consonant placement - it’s definitely live. I recently watched the reaction of an opera singer to this song and she pointed out so many nuances and meanings behind these choices, it’s pretty awesome, and I think you might enjoy it as it had a more professionally analytical than “reactor” type approach.

New subscriber. I love watching your face as you discover new beautiful things. I have an ecclectic taste, and hearing you say your less about lyrics and open to many genres reminded me of an album Nine Inch Nails released independently called Ghosts I-IV. It's almost entirely instrumental and a few of them make me feel things so strongly. Even if you don't do a react I think you would enjoy a listen. I love when established artist take risks and change their sound while still keeping themselves in the music a la billie, or maybe linkin park.

Hey, so I've spent this morning (when I should be sleeping) watching your NF series. And I'm throughly pleased with your analysis. I would like to offer up a suggestion for a reactionanalysis video. Oogie Boogie's Song by Voiceplay. Its an male accapella group performing a song from the Nightmare Before Christmas movie. I hope you find time for it, I'm absolutely certain you will enjoy it. Theyre all fantastic singers but one may break your brain a little. Or if accapella groups aren't your style I would love to see your analysis of The Hu - Wolf Totem

This was such an interesting direction for her, but I love what she did with it. Okay this is kinda played out for reactions, but I feel like you’d like reacting to some of Twenty One Pilots stuff. Probably not their most popular songs, but there’s a couple more mildly popular ones that are really interesting musically, and I’d love to hear your opinion on. If you happen to care, my suggestion for you would probably be Ode to Sleep, Morph, or Lane Boy.
