Are you content with the Kross 2 ? I also want to buy one, but some people say that the sounds are bad.
@mlgl97283 жыл бұрын
@@casmirron I got mine (Kross I). Decent keyboard, awful keybed though. In terms of sound quality, acceptable. To make the most out of it you gotta tweak and retouch certain parameters. By layering sounds you'll be able to do that as well. Perseverance and patience are key here. I use mine on stage and in all fairness it performs well and cuts through the mix quite nicely. When it comes to portability, unbeatable, extremely light. Having said that, I do not recommend it as a main keyboard in the studio. It's preferable to save the money and get the much better options available out there (Roland Fa08, Yamaha Modx...). The 88 key version features a terrible keybed. Pads, strings, synth leads, synth bass and piano sounds are good and really useful. Menu diving is tedious. On stage it might get the job done depending on what kind of music you play, but it might fall short for some users. I bought mine (brand new) for 520e in 2016. I wouldn't pay more than 600e for it. Hope it helps.

I don't seem to have any problems with my Korg Kross 2. Back when I first got it, I was trying to decide between that or a Yamaha MX49/MX61. (The MX49 has 49 keys, and the MX61 has 61 keys.) But there was a video comparing that with the Korg Kross, and people said that was better than the Yamaha MX. (They said the keybed was flimsy, for example. I don't know what they mean about that, but I'm thinking about getting the 49 key version.)

The 61 key model start at $700. Can connect of a computer via USB to edit parameters, exchange midi data and can work as SW synth with your DAW. It has an stereo recorder to recordperformances or external sounds. For that price, what is not to like? The samples are high quality and can run on sixAA batteries, so this is a very affordable and portable worrkstation if you ask me...There is also an 88 key model.

From what I have heard here, Korg Kross is the present and future alternative to an organ! With those synthesizer sounds, you can easily get that pipe organic sound (particularly in the bass octave) as well as the sine and sawtooth synthesizer sound in the mid to treble ranges!

No kidding. I don't know how long he preps for each of these videos, but it's like whatever random piece of gear he picks up, he just goes to town on it and pulls riffs and songs seemingly out of thin air that make that gear really work.
@szabolcsmate52546 жыл бұрын
Kind of makes a difference, doesn't it? :D
@goognamgoognw66376 жыл бұрын
@@Roboprogs Probably no preparation. Over decades of playing he must have created improvisatory styles and harmonies that fit each sound and he automatically has them going. But the level of profusion of his improvisation which is no doubt a mix of of these memorized styles and instant improvisation is masterful. This guy knows classic and jazz music theory but I think all the difference is that he probably build his whole improvisatory playing while learning music harmony, counterpoint and composition at the same time and using them. Not one before the other. Most people who take music lessons are taught wrongly. They might learn to play written pieces for years, then after that they learn theory for years, then try to compose and find they can't improvise. It does not work. You have to do a bit of all of these activities continuously, and apply them on the keyboard from the very beginning, and not learn them sequentially.

Nice for live !!!! favorite buttons ... better than the Krome. The Krome for me is ok but there are many features that I do not need and it is also more expensive and no favorite buttons.In the KROSS you can save all the possible functions and than select a sound with one single button( 64 sounds ... brilliant live)

Sounds Amazing, mostly because of the UJIIEsan talent. Please, what sound is that at 1:14-1:28, it seems like a DX7 Carlos WH type of FM orchestra/organ is there and then you are adding in a GS-1 FM horn (but much better of course) with the Mod Wheel. Is this a stock Combi? Or was it the Filter you were bringing in with the Wheel? Thank you.

In Japan this sells for about 55,000 Yen (less than $500), so it's a very nice instrument for the money. On the other hand, you can get a Korg Krome 61 for 72,000 Yen (about $650) or a Krome 72 for 85,000 Yen (about $750). Honestly, unless you're really skint, it's probably worth the extra money to spring for a Krome instead, which has more features and better sound. On the other hand, I have a Kronos2-88, among other boards, so I'm probably the wrong person to advise about wasting money on gear...
I have the Kross myself but I think the patch at the beginning was modified by him?

@JazzzRockFuzion6 жыл бұрын
Back in 2015, I got this board based on Ujiie's video review. While it is a true "workstation", with all the prerequisite features you'd expect from that categorization, the cost-cutting was undeniable...a very lackluster, cheapo key bed (on the 61-key model), and extremely uneven sound quality across the patches; from viable/giggable to downright embarrassing. Since I'm primarily a live player who relies on bread-and-butter tones (pianos, EPs, clavs, organs, synth brass...), I decided to forego the features I didn't really need (like the 16-track sequencer, step-sequencer, dub-step arpeggiator patterns, etc.) and find an alternative with higher quality essentials. A year later - based on another outstanding Ujiie review - I replaced the Kross with a Roland VR-09, and haven't looked back since!

How do the keys feel? Yes, I'm going out to find out for myself but if this thing feels like a cheap toy, it will be a bummer when I do. Korg has ever had a budget board with non-budget feeling keys in my memory.
