Adams tried passing a crime bill to arrest for petty crime and bring back a working bail system. He was flatly rejected by 90% of the City counsel. As far as his alleged crimes. Dubious at best. Lawfare for publicly going against the migrant narrative. If Adams is removed from office, his replacement Jumaane Williams will be far more damaging to this city. One BILLION dollars of public funds were "lost" by Mayor DeBlasio's wife. No investigation whatsoever. Adams takes some perks and helps out a few friends (nothing new for NYC politics) and it's a federal investigation to bring down him and everyone he knows. Sound familiar?

It's insane that your old apartment complex kept getting broken into. My grandfather's $850/mo. apartment complex, in a very low-rent high-crime neighborhood in San Antonio, had its office in the lobby, across from the mailboxes. It had an armed staffmember in the office all day, and armed security sitting in that office, looking out the window to cover the lobby doors and mailboxes at night. He had to buzz people through both sets of doors to enter. Sure, sometimes people smashed in to try to steal boxes, but they almost always got arrested! The same armed security company patrolled the parking, and would quickly respond to detain car thieves and burglars on notification from the man watching monitors in the office. $2200/mo. versus $850/mo.

I had an old roomate who stole my toilet paper. The guy was just an 455-hole.😂
@rossmanngroup27 күн бұрын
He did you a favor. Get a bidet. If I shit in your hand, would you wipe it off with paper towels, or would you run to the nearest sink & wash your hands with soap? Further, you get another added benefit with a bidet. You're taking a shit and then wiped as much as you can. And if you used wet toilet paper with soap and water, felt good. And then 45 minutes later felt like there was something there? When I say feel like there's something there, some itching sensation of some sort. That's because there's stuff that's still up there that moves around, and makes its way to your skin. One of the benefits of a bidet is it's like mouthwash. When you brush your teeth, no matter how good you brush, there's usually some crumbs still around in your mouth. And the same is true for your asshole. You don't just brush your teeth, you also use mouthwash. The same is true with a bidet. Water rushing in there, if you use it properly, will be like mouthwash for your asshole and to the ends of your intestine and get rid of any crap that's still up there so that once you are done using it, you can rest assured that there is nothing still up there, guaranteed. He did you a favor by getting rid of your toilet paper. He's giving you an opportunity to try a bidet, which will be a life-changing experience for you. No longer will you have to deal with using toilet paper, seeing crap on the toilet paper, or still having crap on your ass. If you are using dry toilet paper, you have crap on your ass skin - RIGHT NOW! The same way that I would have crap on my hand if I used a dry paper towel to wipe your shit off of my hand. Don't discriminate. Treat the skin around your asshole any worse than you would treat the skin on any other part of your body. I treat my kitty the way I would want to be treated. This video advocates for treating squirrels the way you would want your own animals to be treated. And I am going to continue in that vein of anti-discrimination, in suggesting that you treat your asshole skin the same way you would want the skin on your hands or face to be treated. Your asshole skin is no less important than the skin on your face, or hands, nor is it any less worthy of being cleaned properly. Think about it.

This is a great video for people who sneer at just the idea of cities. Cities are everything great & shit about humanity condensed into a small space. Cities have the same asshole-per-capita as anywhere else. But scumbags are opportunists, and cities are an opportunity-rich environment. For everything. NYC is a particularly special case.

I went to NY 1 time when I was in the 7th grade. The city and the landmarks were absolutely beautiful but I still hated my time there (this was before 9/11 so I actually got to see and photograph the twin towers) - It was smelly the train cars smelled so bad, overcrowded, and some people were just rude af. My cousin had a wedding in NY a few years later when I was a teenager and I told my mom I'd rather go to school and learn than take time off school to go to NY to go to a wedding. I'D RATHER BE STUCK IN SCHOOL HELL VS GOING TO NY HELL. I was about 16 or so. My 16 year old self KNEW better. Great place to visit one time and never again after that.

@@InPhillyWeTrust as I said, NYC is a special case. I was speaking more broadly to the general sentiment I see expressed by people who live their lives in the rural areas and the suburbs, who often broadly miss how much they themselves benefit from cities existing, and how much of how we enjoy life would not be possible without them.

In the UK where I live they're sending people to prison for saying hurty words while rapists go free. A lorry (semi truck) almost went into me, my sister, her husband and their 6 kids on the motorway (highway) the other day on a trip back from Scotland as he didn't like us using a merge lane (as they're intended) and used his lorry as a weapon by veering into us to try to make us brake to go behind him in the other lane. Leeds police told me to wait for a while on the Live Chat and then came back saying as it was over half ah hour ago they could do nothing. As far as I can see they literally made me wait until they could do nothing. Absolutely insane.

New York is the way it is not just because of some politicians or legislations, while those do play a role it's mostly because of the complacency of it's residents. New Yorkers have accepted their fate and aren't really willing to do anything about it. be it because they way to broken down or simply don't care, doesn't really matter at this point, this place is not gonna change unless the people change themselves.

Hey Louis - did you have a chance to discuss the so called "Malamud case" in context of the EU? It's about the right to free access to norms used in the EU law. I'm late to notice this, but on 5th of March this year EU court dismissed EU Commission's dismissal to request of releasing the norms to the general public. In short, it's about the fact that law doesn't apply to you if you need to pay to be able to read it VS EU commission ordering independent companies to prepare norms, paying for them and letting those companies keep the IP rights over those. The case number is: C‑588/21 P

This video moved me a lot. While memes were circling on X, I came to your channel because I immediately recognised what was going on here in light of your well documented struggles with the NY bureaucracy. This was not just a squirrel, it was someone's livelihood and joy. There's an old Star Trek episode called "Skin of Evil" that also came to my mind. The malevolent sentient blob of tar, called Armus, abruptly kills one of the main characters, Tasha Yar, without cause. Armus is a threat that the crew cannot reason with or make sense of despite all the knowledge and technology of the 24th century. Only now do I realise what Armus really represents.

man, living in such a low trust society.. Wouldn't want that.. Here.. I got a business building nearby. Relatively often, a packet gets delivered there for a company that is not there, either it once was or someone must have confused addresses. Those packets often just lie there in the publicly accessible entryway for several days. I do not know where they vanish to eventually, maybe someone steals it in the end, maybe someone takes it on themselves to deliver it to or at least inform the real recipient, maybe the postman takes it back, I don't know. What I know is that this happened like 20 times since I live here and the packets always keep just sitting there unopened for days. Oh, and no, there are no cameras there. You literally could drive by in the late evening when the businesses are closed and take it and nobody would know.
