The synthesizer was born to create new sounds which no acoustic instrument did make at the time. And now you made an acoustic instrument to imitate those then new synth sounds!

Yes, I got a lot of sounds that sounds "electronic" because similar sounds was only known as synthetic, but if piano was never invented, it probably sounds synthetic too!

Think about the E Piano 1 on the DX-7! It doesn't sound like an actual, acoustic piano, close, but not the same. And yet that "unrealistic" imitation defined a whole decade.

if you spin around a 1metre length of flexible pvc conduit you can use it for your synth sounds. it produces tones (without attack) depending on tip velocity. Plus you can blow into a 4m length of rigid pvc like a trumpet until it resonates. 20mm rigid inside 25mm rigid will make a trombone. building sites are musical places on a friday.

I remember hearing the Song Popcorn when I was ten. I was fascinated by that Song and became early on a fan of Electronic Music . I've heard many remixes but nothing compares to the Version that was released by Hot Butter in 1972 .Gershon kingsley composed the Original " Popcorn " in 1969 for His solo album " Music To Moog By ". I remember well, listening to Kraftwerk and Jean Michel Jarre when I was a Child too, once I found a Canadian Radio Channel that featured the more Avant Garde music . From that beginning when I "got hooked" , I enjoy Electronic Dance Music to this day .

A guy here in Brisbane Australia made a pvc pipe music thing to busk on Queens Street mall years ago. He uses thongs (aka flip flops) to "drum" the sound. Well worth a google and might spark an idea to improve this type of instrument.

Brilliant. I love the ideas, the imaginings, and the lengthy trial and error. I love the tenacious determination. I love that the project was carried through to completion. Please pardon me and don’t be offended when I say, this is a wonderful video to teach children that our failures and difficulties pave our road to success. They do not define us nor do they block us from progress. They strengthen us and beckon us on beyond. Brilliant!
