makes no sense that the overhand alternate attack for a bayonet is close range, a better alternative close range alternate attack wouldve been a shove or stock bash that pushes the attacker away, could give it lower damage for balance i guess

What's the point of blocking if it takes away so much stamina? Does the attacker lose more stamina?

Blocking should be used as a way to disengage the enemy until you've reached a safe distance. Furthermore, a mechanic that isn't showcased in this video is the perfect block system. You can perfect block with certain weapons when timed properly. This will not use any of your stamina which gives you an advantage. Of course, this is all subject to change once play testing occurs soon.

Blocking seems barely used, a way to counter this is to make it so you only lose stamina when you miss a block and gain it on a successful block.
