I have wanted to do this for a long time so we finally made it happen!
We maybe overpaid for this 2000 skidoo summit 137 but its in great shape! Other than the stupid runner that wrecked my ramp. I actually had a lot more fun today than I expected to. Will have to get a vintage ride organized at some point!

Made me feel nostalgic watching you shred on that old doo today. This just goes to show how technically diversified your riding style is. You're an example of the man makes the machine, not what machine makes the man. I absolutely loved watching this! Best video yet!

The new sleds are awesome technology wise and it's crazy what you guys can do on them but as far as videos go this is one of the best. I really enjoyed watching the older sled ripping the pow, would love to see more of it and possibly different brands and or years if possible. Either way another awesome video!

I had a 97 583 Rotary Valve Summit and a 2002 700. The 2002 was freaking awesome. I ran it completely out of oil one time and it seized up. We were way, way back in the boondocks, we pulled the plugs poured oil down there, put oil in the tank, etc, pulled it a few time and it ran and ran great. Had HPS can on it, very loud.

OMG, you bought it, it is exactly like my 98-99? !st year of Dess it was only on the 600 and They did not have the summit x out yet so for a short time (read one season) it was king of the un-moded mountain. This should be good (gets popcorn) "It doesn't go anywhere" "I cant do anything", Yep, that's the early summit's. You ALWAYS went up from the road line because you could easily run out of gas trying to find your way back up if you went below the road line. I am so glad to see you riding this just the same as I did my 600, and keep in mind, I was 6'2" and 220. lol We didn't roll the sleds out of stucks because it would tear the windshield off and without it any real snow just rode over the hood, blinded you and cut the air to the sled. #1 rule, don.t ever stop until you are pointed down hill, no exceptions. Just think, I accidentally did a 45' vertical hit on it. No trees or markers for miles, flat light, could not tell if you were looking past a cornice or just at flat snow. I was riding behind 5 other guys, fire fighters I worked with that had been riding here for decades so I trusted them and we all, one at a time went over the edge of the cornice and did not know we were going into freefall until we had committed. I was sure I was going to land on the guy in front of me because he was just bottoming out when I went into freefall. But he squirted out of the four guy deep bomb crater, and somehow I squirted out of the now five guy bomb hole. Afterwards it was hilarious, during it was "surprise! Be terrified!". lol

@@MuskokaFreerider Better, I had the 99 600 summit. it was, believe it or not, the most capable stock mountain sled available that year. It was the first year the summit got DESS and it was on the 600, (looks it up) yep, it was a 99 summit blue with yellow bits, and the only track you could get in 99 was a 136 by 15 with a 2.52" lug to tame all 100 ponies! lol

Now imagine going back another 25 years to the mid to late 70's in Alaska and imagine the riding skills needed to high-mark, without bogging down/getting stuck. Not to say you guys aren't hella riders, because you are, but in pure skill and technique...us 'old guys' weren't too bad either. P.S. Even in the late 70's, the sleds were infinitely better than my very first one...a 1968 Polaris Colt! Were y'alls parents even born...in 68? LOLOL Keep up the great videos, so this 67 year old now living in Florida...can recall the 'Glory Days' of growing up riding in Alaska. 👍

I had 01 summit 700 with 144" yellow just like that one. 00 might had 136" tracks, but 01 had 2 different track lengths 144 151. I think 01 year is when they introduced the 800s. I don't know if they had any longer track lengths on that chassie. Lot of guys back east went smaller profile tracks, but they had 2" paddles. Me thinks that isn't the original track length. 97 x summit was the 1st year to have 2" paddles and it was like that couple 2 or 3 yrs of in to the Rev chassie. My dad had same thing I had it was black. He got 7000 miles out of that 700 he did a ring job around 4000. They also made red ones of 01 year. Everything until Rev chassie is 15" wide tracks. I trade my 01 700 for 03 800 summit x. The guys out west would gear them down and lean it out. I enjoyed the video.
