After not riding a 154 turbo for probably 30-40 rides, I sure missed it!

I might not be as old as Jerry, but I'm old enough that waiting at the top isn't too bad. Gives me a nice break so I don't look old and weak to the young kids. I really enjoy my 163 at the end of the day when I can just pin it and walk right up and out all the climbs the 155 guys are having to work hard to get.

Dealing with warranty or shop issues is always a blast. I takes forever just to get your machine in, then half the time it sits there forever, then you get the f*cking thing back and you get shit like you got. Loose hoses, fasteners, etc. To top it off, they don't even fix the original problem. Gotta love it.

21:49 You make some good points about track lengths, but you forgot one big reason when choosing track lengths, and many do too. If you are a young buck it might not be a big deal, but as years passes by it becomes important. To save energy while still having fun and not spend too much time and energy getting unstuck. I rather wrestle a 165" in tights spots and in between trees because it gets me to the top without draining all my energy. And I need that energy to go riding the next day. Even if a 165" is less nimble and playfull it's still playfull enough to have a great day up in the alpine and all the up to the alpine. I get less fatigued riding a 165" and I can do longer days of riding.

I agree, 154/5 is the best all around. Which makes sense being middle of the road. You'd think if they're having so much issues with that nut falling off they'd drill the stem and put a cotter pin or double nut or something with it to keep it from doing that. Is it the same valve that does that? Thanks for all the vids!

I grew up on Polaris, I ride a Polaris today, but I am NOT brand loyal. The Gen5 154 is your bread and butter Matt. You rip on the Boost, but you can tell you're more familiar on the Doo. What's great about the Doo is the adjustable limiter strap. If you want to get rowdy, you can. If you want to keep the skis down, you can...ish. That's a BRILLIANT design by BRP. I personally enjoy watching you on the 54 cuz it's less "point and shoot" so to speak, takes more skill to ride. It is fun to see some high speed climbs sometimes though. I honestly think the 54 Turbo R and the 65 Boost is the dream duo. The low end grunt of the Doo for the tight trees, and the top end longer track for the super deep days. Does your Boost have the 325 track??
@leftyeh6495
@leftyeh6495 Жыл бұрын
The doo doesn't have any more bottom end, it just gets up on the pipe quicker because it's geared lower. I don't know why polaris gears their sleds so high, if they'd drop from the 2.3 to the 2.5 that doo uses they'd feel stronger also. For reference, I run a TKI belt drive so I can change gears. I started at the 1 tooth down, ended up at 2 teeth down. Still can do 80mph which is too fast for the track anyways, but it's amazing how much snap it has on the bottom.

@@leftyeh6495 The 24’ Boost has a helluva lot more bottom end than the 22’s and 3’s did, but I was under the impression that was due to the updated clutch?

Looks like that keeps happing because it's a lock nut but no actual threads reaching far enough through the locking part of the nut. Thread locker would do the trick, but it's a bit sad to have to fix a design flaw that way. The other nut looks like a regular flange nut though. Maybe it's serrated so it'll lock itself to the plastic part. Who knows. Either way, just glue the thing on and be done with it.

Grab some spare nuts that are the size you need for that issue if it’s common or carry a small telescoping magnet to fish the nut outta the bottom of the sled.

That sucks when you can't rely on the dealer to fix it properly. If they'd read the service manual they would be able to do the job right...
