Almost all Uyghurs in Xinjiang are Muslims. Do you think their lives are miserable? This Pakistani friend has repeatedly stated that mosques are closed. Is this information from Western media? But mosques were neither closed nor religious activities banned. Some mosques may be closed because they are located in busy cities or scenic areas where many tourists will trespass and seriously disrupt the mosque's activities, but in other places new mosques are built for the use of Muslims. Mosques are distributed across the country. I hope this Pakistani Friday friend can go to Urumqi and Xi'an to pray. China has not been a religious country since ancient times, but it has never banned religion in history.

Hello, Sorry brother, I like China and I went there many times but you please don't deny the fact that mosques are closed. Pakistan is China's friend that's why I don't want to talk deep here but mosques are closed in xinjiang province, Reading Muslim's holy book in not allowed, offering prayers in mosques not allowed, offering prayers and get caught will end you in jail/rehabilitation centres. There were some uighur/Chinese friends but last time they were not talking with us, they told us that please don't talk to us otherwise we will get caught by police. We were embarrassed that they are not even talking to us 😢. Yeah some groups were doing terrorist activities and planning something bad but you can't arrest someone who is doing his/her religious activities. That is bad my brother.

Erdaoqiao Mosque in the area of Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar (built on June 26th, 2003) is open for tourists and daily worship as well from 2004.

2003年是建筑维护翻新，那个清真寺历史很久了。在它附近还有另一个更古老的清真寺“陕西大寺”，那个清真寺主要是回族穆斯林礼拜。 维吾尔族不是乌鲁木齐历史上的主体民族，很久以前是蒙古族、哈萨克族、回族人口多，乌鲁木齐这个城市的名字也是出自蒙古语。
