Muslim Prayer Ban In School:
A Muslim student in London's Michaela School lost a High Court challenge against the school's ban on prayer rituals. The policy, deemed discriminatory, was contested by the student. The school argued that allowing such rituals could undermine inclusion among students.
School founder and head teacher Katharine Birbalsingh hailed the ruling as a victory for all schools. In an 83-page judgment, Mr. Justice Linden dismissed the student's case, stating that by enrolling at the school, she accepted restrictions on practicing her religion.

Let them pray, but they have to work the extra time taken to stop and pray, or deduct pay for work time lost. Another way forward would be to use a clock in/off system. Every time someone wants a smoke break or prayer break they have to clock out then back in again to resume work. System is automated and adds up hours worked automatically. I worked in a flexible clocking in/out system and it worked beautifully. Employers didn't lose out and employees were happy to have a little flexibility without loosing pay. E.G. useful if an employee has a dental appointment, pick up kids etc!

The parents chose to send their child to that school knowing exactly what the school rules and ethos were. They are free to send their child to any other school. Apparently, the mother said she is disappointed in the ruling by the judge. Tough luck. Don’t agree with the ethos of the school…find another, don’t take a secular school to court. This is an excellent high achieving school..be grateful for an education that this country provides for free, as the legal aid provided to take this school to court. You don’t like it then go to a country that shares your beliefs, oh wait! Education for females may be limited. Ungrateful. I’m sick of the democracy of this country being used and abused. Give your student place to someone who will be damn grateful of an education.

Look at the Chapel at Stansted Airport. Once changed into a multi-faith Prayer Room, it is now more a small mosque with a footbath and prayer mats. Not a place for women.

A smoking ban should not be remotely a priority right now. The original smoking ban made sense as it impacted people who don’t smoke by making indoor areas smoke free. This latest iteration is overstepping their authority. The government have no say in how people live their lives as long as choices don’t impact others.

The real irony over this is they use the excuse of cost to the N.H.S. n surely the smokers are actually paying far more tax than other people, in other words paying extra for smoke related illness, but how come not all the tax collected from cigarettes goes to the N.H.S. as per using excuses, other wise all the tax would go to the N.H.S.

Although I don't smoke, we are not a dictatorship "yet" people must be allowed to decide for themselves, the health aspect can also be used for alcohol which causes more deaths and anti social behaviour than smoking ever will.

Followed the Makayla school case closely from the USA these past months. So very glad to hear proper verdict/resolution achieved. Very glad for the strictest head teacher in England and a cess on the people who wasted the school's time and resources on this nonsense. I'm not even mentioning the threats against staff. Small minded bullies and cowards did that...not real men at all....
