Increasing number of muslims would rather live in Western countries than islamic countries because in most islamic countries human rights, social security, political freedom, and religious freedom are not good...in what 'fantastic' islamic country do you want to live?>Pakistan? Afghanistan? Iran? Iraq? Saudi Arabia? Syria? Egypt? Algeria? Libya? Tunesia? Morocco, Somalia? Sudan? Nigeria? Mali? Turkey? Tadjikistan? Turkmenistan? Uzbekistan? Albania? Indonesia?...think again;)

Can non Muslims attend Islamic school? My kids are in elementary school but kids around them learn bad inappropriate things & they’re teaching my children these things as well. I want them to attend a respectful school. Christian school is very expensive idk if Islamic school would also be expensive? 😭 I wish they could attend something other than public school.

I am soooo happy and grateful I came across this video. I was born and still growing up in a muslim country. But my family is now deciding to move to Canada. I've been so tensed like what would other students think of me being in hijab and not getting along with people. But this gave me 70% of confidence. There are SOO many cultures in that school. It looks fun. I hope so

I don't understand why there is consistently so much hate on the CBC Docs videos? If you people hate every single upload so much, why not unsubscribe and stop paying attention to them? For some of us, we are willing to watch and learn new things, so your constant hate just spoils it for us.

@@Bluesky-sz5ff Do you have an interest in Islam? You can contact your local Muslims, search for more religious and knowledgable ones, and ask them to explain you their faith for starters. You can go to the local mosque and ask the imam (religious leader) to tell you more about Islam. *Islam is a religion for all races and ethnicities.* As you could have seen at ISNA, they are some of most diverse schools because of Islamic diversity. So do not feel left out because you are white or black and not Middle Eastern. I am too what Americans would call white, and my family has been ethnic Muslim more than we can recount our ancestry. There are millions of black Muslims in Africa too.

I know this video is quite old now(almost over 4 years), but looking back it, I find it very interesting because it shows how Muslims students slowly begin to liberalize themselves in order to fit more with their environment as they leave Islamic school for other school systems. They seem to have this insecure, inferiority complex-type mindset where they feel like they must "fit in" otherwise their lives are risk by right wing extremists or they may have zero friends who want to talk to them at school. They want to be accepted by the secular environment so badly but their own religion(Islam) seems to be getting in the way. You can clearly see how some of the Muslims girls are started to become less religious as they switch schools. This girl in this video says "Why can't we all be united and one". Which sort of seems like she's buying into perennialism(an ideology that says all religions are true in their own ways). But the Quran clearly states Islam is the only true religion acceptable to Almighty God. Which means all other religions are false and corrupted ways of life that are not accepted by God. So her state of mind is very risky, because she's slowly assimilating herself to a non-Muslim environment and she's most likely going to become less and less religious over time and may even potentially convert to a Non-Muslim religion! Its a slow, gradual process of religious apostasy. Muslim parents have to take more careful consideration where they put their daughters, otherwise they will not definitely not come out as religious adults anymore like they hope they would. Again, these are very young girls and they probably don't know any better, but its just very sad to see how they started off as good religious Muslims, to slowly then liberalizing themselves to fit in more with Non-Muslims. After all, the Prophet said that you take the religion of your friend. In order to be a good Muslim, you may sometimes have to be alone, unless you can find friends that are of better influence according to your religion. But you can't just become a sell-out, just to fit in with your secular environment. Because that just shows your faith in your religion is very weak.

It's disheartening to see the continued obsession islam has with modesty or attracting attention, like when she talks about what sort of bag she wants. Self expression is a beautiful thing. To have that prohibited or diminished by someone else's uncomfortability is baffling. And then to say she wants to give up journalism because it's what her parents want. We only have one life; we should make it what we want it to be.
