Ok sweet little story for ya 😁 I’m a Muslim hijabi girl. My whole life I attended a private Islamic school, but this year I go to a public school. I still talk to my Muslim friends all the time. One day, on the bus home, I was texting my Muslim friends. I had my non Muslim friend sitting next to me, let’s call her Alyssa. So on my phone, one of my friends texted “Salam” in the group chat, and Alyssa saw it, and she asked me “what does that mean?” So I explained to her what Assalamu Alaikum is. She then took my phone, said Salam to my friends, and started chatting with them. They enjoyed talking to Alyssa. I thought it was rly cute, my new friend talking to my old friends. When Alyssa got off the bus, she said to me, “Salam (my name) !” And walked off before I could reply. That made my day 😊

I got married back in 2019, before this pandemic started, to a non Muslim (she converted later) and I'm from a very Muslim family. My patents immigrated from Iraq yet they were very open and very welcoming to her. Due the pandemic, I barely get to see them or anyone from my family.
