Hello friends,
This authentic bread halwa is the most famous dessert in muslim weddings. Fried bread in tossed in milk and ghee and garnished with cashews and melon seeds. This recipe is the most authentic one and it keeps the flavours of the original halwa intact.
Ingredients required:
Bread Slices - 25 to 30
Sugar - 2 cups (600 gms)
Water - 3 cups (measure in the same cup in which sugar is measured)
Cashew nuts - A handful fried in 2 tbsp ghee
Milk - 250 ml
Milk Khoya/Khova/Maava - 3 Tbsp
Cardamom - 2 or 3 for flavouring
Melon seeds for garnishing
2 tbsp ghee for garnishing
Oil and ghee in equal amounts for frying the bread slices
