I used to wonder how come the official language of the mughals were farsi and why not Arabic? It would've been so much easier to understand our religion better and not indulge in cultural Bidats etc. Actually all these three empires ie Usmanians, Safavids and Mughals were from central Asia and non arabs. Usmanis were mostly involved with protecting the Europian borders. Safavids on the other hand were brutal. Forced the entire Persian population into shia or killed them otherwise. Persian language was Farsi, hence the influence over the local neighbours ie Mughals

@@Kaliwal875 because Farsi had a deep civilizational background and more dynamic literary background and suited the society more, as most people in Hindustan were not from Arabia. Most outside Muslims who settled in Hindustan were Turks or Afghans who were from a very Persian region. Arabic was taught and most educated people knew how to speak at least conversational Arabic and not just in Mughal sultanat but also Osmanli and Safavid empires. Arabic of course has special significance but you can get into bidah with Arabic too.

Language has cultural influence, hence so many of the sub continent people were Shiafied and had similar values, not to mention the other Hindufied bidaats. Yes people were still taught Quran but don't think many people were able to speak Arabic or understand it. Since Islam came from Arabia, if one knows the Arabic than it is much more easy to connect with the religion

Again, knowing only the Arabic language is not a guarantee of anything. There's a huge population of Arab Shias. And Farsi language was brought to Hindustan mostly by Sunnis. Particularly in Bengal, Hindufication was systematic after British invasion. They replaced Farsi with Sanskrit Bengali. New Hindu class of British loyalists sought to, in their mind, reverse Muslim cultural influence

Brother Adnan, please could you do a presentation if poss and clarify if there were any Indian Sahabi's - I have heard a maulana from S Aafrica claim that there were some who embraced Islam - they were Khadim's serving in opposing army and a unit was sent to Madina for reconnaissance but that they became Muslims? If that is the case, then there is a history that we need to be proud of as well, just as, people from middle east countries. If there is no evidence for Indian Sahabas, how about the first docking point for Muslims in India, where did it all start? How did it spread? Apart from the Moghuls who were the major positive contributors to spreading Islam in India - was the introduction of Islam in India a simple event or complex and what was the reception by the people in power and the common folk......by the way, you are fascination guy...….MashAllah

There were Jatts in Arabia and Persia, who were known as Al-Zutti. They were mostly mercenaries. Some of them joined the Rashidun Caliphs, and helped in the conquest of Persia and Sindh. It is thought that the Ma'danid dynasty, which was formed shortly after the collapse of regional Abbasid authority, was a Jatt dynasty. They even called themselves Maharajas. Those Zuttis no longer exist. During the rule of the Umayyads and Abbasids, they were regularly relocated from their base in Iraq, especially after the Zutt Rebellion. And after the formation of the Ma'danid dynasty, most of the migrations from Sindh and Makran towards Iraq stopped. It is thought that the remaining Zuttis eventually assimilated into the Marsh Arabs of Iraq. Today, the term "Zotti" is used pejoratively to refer to gypsies, despite modern scholarship disproving any connection. So if there were any Indian Sahaba, they would probably be from among the Jatts. As for the first docking point, that would be the Malabar coast. Arabs traded there before they conquered Sindh.

Sikh victories were only possible because of Muslims (Afsharids and Durranis) destabilizing Mughal Punjab. How ironic that the Afghans, who sought to plunder the wealth of Punjab at any cost, created their own biggest rival in the 19th century. But anyways, the Pakistanis have secured most of the fertile farmland and major population centers of Punjab.

We all know that Mohammad threw the idols form the mecca, We have seen Persia converted to Islam who were pioneer monotheists. We have seen the ongoing conflict from Muslim countries for centuries. Indians never tried to convert anybody, Indians always followed the path of Non-violence. We believe the religion to be a personal matter and we never collected tax on such holy things.
