I think one major difference between Pak & India is that religion is not dragged into the streets as much as in Pakistan. Jinnah's daughter married a Parsi stayed back in Mumbai (his grandson Nusli Wadia is a successful businessman there) giving a slap in the face to Jinnah's philosophy that Hindus & Muslims can't coexist peacefully & muslim minority will not get a fair chance in India)). Not sure how much he himself believed in the country he created since he was still hedging his bets and working to save his stock (Air India) investments in India and his house from being taken over by the Indian government even after partition! Pakistanis are like "Muslims", "Muslims" stop seeing "Muslims" see "Human Beings"! If the Arab Muslim countries had felt even half of what you Pakistanis feel for the mythical "Muslim Umma" your country would have been bailed out long time ago from the current mess! They obviously have more sense than that!

And diminishing Hindu population is also a major concern in 1947 the population of Hindu was lot more but it is near 1 percent in present time Pakistan. Plus the textbook in Pakistan which is anti Hindu or ridiculing Hindu practices are also a huge concern. India too have problems but we don’t give religious teaching in schools our curriculum is secular. Why should a nonmuslim student study Islamic study in school curriculum?! I don’t want to hurt you or offend you but I’m asking why can’t Pakistan be a secular republic like India and respect all religions? Why it is Islamic republic? India had non Hindu head of states like president APJ Abdul Kalam and PM Manmohan Singh. So why can’t a Hindu or nonmuslim can become PM or president of Pakistan? Extremist here in India give example of Pakistan to make it Hindu republic just like Islamic republic of Pakistan. If Pakistan becomes secular and start giving rights to minorities and work to increase and protect minority population in Pakistan then extremist in India will not get any point to score and lose the narrative.
