Mt Blue Sky is the only must-do in the Clear Creek area. Frothy has good coffee as they brew their own beans on site. St Marys is cool but Loch Lamond is free and less crowded.

We loved this video. We are visiting Colorado in 2 weeks and Mt Evans were already in your plans but I had no idea we need a formal authorization to get access to it. Another important thing you do in your videos is that you show the small towns and Idaho Springs was not in our plans but now they are for sure. You have been helping us a lot with your videos and information. Thanks and keep going...

Not a bad video, My mom was born there in 1939....I have spent many summers there.. Surprised you miss the old coal train,,,The water wheel I have played on....The river in front of the wheel, is called Clear creek, Dad and I did lots of fishing in it.....Looks like my quite little town is just a Tourist Trap.......Sad....Thanks.............JB..............

You never touched the water wheel. It's a historical monument. You've never even been there.

Good to know about needing a permit for Mt. Evans now. We went a couple years ago before the pandemic & no permits were required.

I wonder if there are any natural hot springs you can visit and get into in Colorado?! I know you couldn’t get in any of the hot springs in Arkansas that we saw-they were only available in the commercially operated pools and bathhouses.

Hello! Nice video! liked so much ... one question... when was this video filmed? On July? I'll be there in december until March and i think is it going to be a little bit more snowy hahah... Best regards from Argentina!

Thank you for this amazing video, we are planning to go to IDAH Springs Co. It is friendly to the kids like 10 years old hiking? Do we need to buy the time entry permit like Rocky mountain?

I really enjoyed your video. I'm curious about your time/schedule. Can you share what time you started your adventure and approximately what time you started various activities? I understand that your reservation to go to the top of the mountain was a noon. I'm in the process of planning a trip and I would like to to all the things you did =)
@JeanieMarie
@JeanieMarie 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed this! We arrived in Idaho Springs at about 7am and we left at about 6pm. Yes, the reservation we got was for Mount Evans was for noon. So we planned our day around that. If you have any other questions, just ask! Happy Trip Planning--you'll love Idaho Springs!

Love your video! Question about St Mary's Glacier hike...was it rocky most of trail...you said 1/2 mile, right? Also how long did it take you to drive up to Summit of Mt Evan's?
@JeanieMarie
@JeanieMarie 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, trail was very rocky. It's .5 miles to the lake below the glacier and then if you want to climb the glacier it's at least another .5+ miles. We spent a couple hours on Mt Evans... we did a lot of stops at viewpoints along the way.. Have a great time and thanks for watching!

Pike's Peak is only a few feet higher than Mt. Evans. Even the highest in Colorado that you can take Jeep trails up to are not even another 100' higher. Don't be mislead by what happened during the pandemic, post pandemic Idaho Springs is extremely busy even on weekdays, no parking, impossible to get into any of the restaurants anywhere close to meal times.

Mount Evans is higher than Pikes Peak.
@billj5645
@billj5645 Жыл бұрын
@@JeanieMarie It is! (my mistake) What I found was Pikes Peak is 14115', Mt. Evans is 14130'. I haven't driven up Pikes Peak in a long time, back then it wasn't paved all the way up. They have a new visitor center at the top, maybe they've paved it all. Mt. Bross is the highest, you can drive up to 14178'. I believe it's the highest road you can drive anywhere in the US, but it's a Jeep trail if you are even still allowed to drive all the way up.

Looks like a fun place to spend a day, Get in and Get OUT. I lived there for over 7 years and the young residents were redneck miners and druggies. When the Mine shut down I moved and have not been back since.
