MUST DO Upgrade to EVERY RTR RC Car! - Collab with KST Servos!

Today we are taking a look at one of the most worthwhile and epic upgrades you can make to your RTR RC Car!
The guys at KST Servos have been kind enough to send out two of there metal cased, digital, brushless and High voltage servos for me to test here on the channel!
We will be fitting an upgraded servo to my FTX DR8 which is in desperate need of a handling upgrade!
Factory fitted servos always seem to be just good enough and the best upgrade anyone can make straight away is with a decent steering servo!
Yes those cheap servos exist and I even use them myself but the quality and craftmanship with these KST servos is second to none!
KST have sent me the BLS815 and BLS359 WP to take a closer look!

What do you think of these awesome KST Servos? Yes they are a little more expensive than some of the cheaper options out there but you get a much higher quality metal product with high voltage capabilities and brushless! I appreciate someone who drives his r/c in a scale and authentic way. Not your everyday bash and destroy video. I'm also a big believer in having a proper servo for your application. Handling is far greater than overall speed. Speed without control is just a wreck waiting to happen.

Servos are such an overlooked upgrade! Yet probably the most important upgrade! Great video mate, these don't look too bad!

They sure are and I think a lot of us are guilty of not replacing them as an early on upgrade. It makes such a difference to the handling of a truck! Cheers bro

I bought some cheap brushless SPT 35kg servo to replace my Rival MT10 RTR servo. At 7.4 volts I am almost afraid something will break because the wheels turn so violently. I think it was 30€ shipped. Pretty awesome! Draws so many amps though, it dims the LED lights when turning!

Any recommended servo for mjx hyper go 1/14th bm and 1/16th bm please. Doesn't give any details on the servo and I'm kinda new to ground RC main hobby is race quads. Would like to replace the stock ones in my mjx hyper goes

I like your content and videos but I’d love to see a UK product every once in a while. These servos sound great but having to source them from the US means I’ll never see one let alone purchase one. Does the UK market not exist?

Hi Lee. Over 40% of my channel views are in the US and only 10% from the UK which is why a lot of the time vids are catered more to the US/global market. I occasionally throw in UK sourced stuff but it's rare and those videos never perform well. Yes it's not always about views it's about the hobby but trying to run a channel takes time/money/effort and to continue bringing vids out I can't post stuff that won't do well unfortunately. TomleyRC also faces similar analytics I think as we both refer to prices in dollars a lot of the time also instead of GBP. The joys of being an RC youtuber I guess... cheers mate

I totally get it, it’s frustrating some times when a video pops up that you’re already interested in learning more about (I’m thinking of a new servo for my MT10) and then the product is from the US so shipping and import taxes make it irrelevant. Keep making the excellent videos!

Check out the savox sw0231 it's £30 from UK shops and excellent. Been running it in my granite for over 2 years with no issues nice and strong for a 1/10

Brilliant video mate love the ftx dr8 I've upgraded my streeing servo 25kg and I charge the esc to max8 go's like a rocket now 😀👍

80-100$ for a servo is quite a lot and I'm not seeing any warranty if it breaks.

they talk about the warranty here: kstservos.com/pages/after-sales-policy its for 1 year which is similar to most other brands of servos. I was very pleased with the build quality and performance and the option to run 6v-8.4v if required. I think worth the money personally but I know a lot of people will disagree.

@@beyondRC it makes sense only on high-end builds , an under 500$ build would not have the ESC to use 8.4V or has 100$ to spare on a servo. I just don't see it as an item your audience would buy.
