Instead of rarescanner, start using silver dragon. Increases the range for finding rares, will work with tomtom instantly and even shows what they drop in a heartbeat.. instead of that annoying asf sound notification spam from rarescanner.

MinimapButtonBag is also awesome if you have a lot of addon's icon on the minimap. It's just one icon around the minimap that expands a menu with all of your addon's icon when you click on it. Very clean

Silver dragon - Rare scanner is a littlebit better than Rare scanner. SD - RS tells you if some rare spawns in the zone you are in and shows direction on the minimap where it is. Rara Scanner only tells you when you are close to a rare or a treasure.

Cursor Trail is one I use, sometimes I lose my cursor during fights, so this adds a customizable tail to it so I can find it when I wiggle the mouse.

I use a green circle that appears when in combat. Puts a circle around the cursor so it’s harder to lose it. Super useful for @cursor macros like rain of fire

I would suggest DeModal, it allows you to move the various blizzard windows and to have as many windows open as you'd like. It comes in handy since you can no longer have your crafting window open at the same time as an AH window. But just being able to drag windows around wherever I want is also convenient.

I use Rings inside of Rings in OPie for my several dozen teleports as a Mage. As someone who has played high-end content for all of WoW, I have a significant amount of Challenge Mode and M+ teleports, plus obviously the Mage teleports, toys/items that teleport you somewhere etc. Having a ring with several subrings for different categories helps greatly declutter my travel options!

One additional addon that is a nice QoL improvement is an addon called "Pawn" which tells you if a piece of gear is an upgrade and how much of an upgrade it is. I started using it in Dragonflight instead of just calculating the changes on my end.

If you are getting above like 385 pawn is pretty bad at figuring out what is actually best for your class and spec so be careful

Pawn is ok but the info isn't 100% accurate unfortunately. At some point the stat weights change so much that the best secondaries etc pretty much need to be simmed because it no longer gives valid estimations of what is a upgrade. That mostly happens later on though and on lower ilvl when it shows around 10-20% upgrades you can be sure it is an upgrade. But 1-5% might not actually be.. It's a shame because I really hate that I'd need to go to some raidbot to sim which gear to use...annoying af

Many people like it for RP, but even outside of it, Listener is very useful. It will ping you gently anytime someone says your toon/character name or other specific 'nicknames', but you can also mouseover over target someone to get a short list of anything they have recently said in /s, party or raid and how long ago they said it.

I have World Quest Tracker, but the icons on my map are so small I can barely find them. Is there a way to increase their size?

Had the same problem. Yes. Go to map, at the bottom left corner you should have around 5 new menus(also quite small on my screen). From memory check the very first one of left. In its submenu one of the options is to increase size of icons on the map and another setting for increasing size of the summary icons. Hope that helps.

World Quest Tracker has that annoying bug that it doesn't let you use some abilities and I need to disable it often. I switched to World Quest List personally and I haven't looked back.

My issue is the sheer amount of visual noise and clutter just adding by DBM or handynotes gets really overwhelming. I put on Handynotes and my problem goes from "I don't know where the rares/treasures are" to "I literally cannot see the map under all these icons" and DBM requires a lot of configuration considering I don't _need_ a voice heckling me "HEY, GET OUTTA THE FIRE" on top of everything else happening at once. Are there good video guides breaking down what these addons do specifically and how to slim them down to only what I need?

i use Z-Pearl for name plates and Autobar for all my clicky items. Like all my hearthstones and healing / mana pots , etc. As far as weak auras it has been and always will be TMI for me. too much clutter on my screen and I don’t want to basically take a class to learn how to use an add on. also i use recount instead of details because once again too much information. seems that everyone thinks more is better but sadly it’s not. There are a few add-ons that are helpful, but I feel like over reliance on them is a bad thing .

All I have to say is you’re stuck in 2010 Opie (slow) = lite mount is better for mounts Silver dragon = 1000 times better and cleaner than rarescanner. Platter = custom config in elvui. No need for another addon Tom Tom = poor mans version of zygor

Originally Recount became very resource heavy (many xpacs ago) and caused some pretty significant fps/lag issues. Details became the go to because you can turn off the parts you don't really want/need and it is, overall, a "lighter weight" addon. Not sure if Recount still has the same issues as once I switched and got used to Details there really hasn't been any pressing need to try Recount again. It might just be more of a preference of one over the other by now if the resource issues have been resolved with Recount.

tbh what i want the most is a multi set focus icon mainly for tanking, like 2 for taunt targets, 2 for healers in raids. 1 isnt enough when its multi-target taunt targets. i dont want to use macros and add more buttons to my cast bars i want to see them all

Just gonna say Naowhs UI bundle that you get from subbing to his twitch has insane value if you are interested in getting better at the game. I loved my addons and the way I set them up before I found his ui package and would never look back. I edited it a bit but it’s easy enough to do. HIGHLY SUGGEST

I actually prefer /keystone from the details addon over Astral keys. It's one less addon to deal with and shows you the keys that everyone online in your guild has currently. Astral keys looks nice but that's basically it. Details /keystone > Astral keys

ElvUI is great, if you quickly want a nice clean UI with most extra features that you need, but it is hardware hungry and limited. I've used it for years and made the switch with Dragonfliight, so i can use every new good thing in the updated UI and extend with different addons. Now my Game performs better and I can even do more than with ElvUI. It's the jack of all trades, but master of none. But if you don't want to spend the energy and time with your UI, then ElvUI is a nice choice.

High end players doesn't use elvui any longer because it tanks ur fps in combat. Since I got rid of it i noticed huge fps increase in combat. Elvui was lightweight and good in the past, but truth is its riddled with lua errors nowadays.
