Years ago, before all the ECUs I used to wire a hidden kill switch that went between the ignotion switch and starter motor. It cut out the power to the starter so the car wouldn't turn over, and therefore not start. I was wondering of i was to do the same on my new BMW would it keep throwing up a dashboard fault.

Any tips or products you'd recommend for preventing catalytic converter theft? Particularly a simple, cost effective or DIY solution/product. Something easily bought and fitted yourself.. ( even if you only have very basic knowledge! ) Is there an alarm that'll detect a thief or catalytic converter theft from the outside? Would love some advice! As they're being stolen nearly everyday where I live.

Thanks for the comment. Catalytic converter theft is massive at the moment but there's only a handful of things you could really do The quickest, easiest and arguably cheapest way to do it is to get somebody to weld the bolts, not great if you need it changing but would make it more difficult for somebody to get off and most competent garages could do that although it's only worth it if the catalytic converter is bolted on. There's also something called a CatClamp which sort of encapsulates it, it won't prevent theft but it'll make it harder for thieves to take. Other than that it's mostly physical things you can do, parking the front of your car (if it's mounted at the front) as close to something solid as possible, parking in a well lit place, avoiding parking half the car on a kerb etc. I hope that helps!

I’ve got the original stop lock for my 140 but doesn’t fit the steering wheel well and leaves marks. Do you know if the pro would fit better? Looks bigger from this video.

I used the Pro on my M140i and it fit fine, it is a bit bigger I just had to turn the wheel right a bit so the tail end didn't come into contact with the centre console

I’m stuck between ghost with a scorpion tracker that they’re offering discounted as a complimentary offer or just a disklok and a TRACKER branded tracker device with a years subscription for now. The subscription fee for tracker is almost twice that of scorpion although it is better and in direct liaison with the police. What’s your thoughts please mate?
