Great video! Love you Emily. I have mature under eyes with fine lines and dark blue circles with fair, oily, cool toned skin. I've tried most of the drugstore color correctors and they all run too peachy orange or yellow for me. I discovered my best combination is to apply a shade lighter concealer than my skin, only over the dark circle area. Then dust over the concealer with a light true pink blush to do the color correcting. This also minimizes the layers so it doesn't crease. I can also dust my powder over that area to help it blend with the surrounding skin. I hope that helps someone.

Growing up I didn’t have a Mom who wore makeup (she still doesn’t, although she’s gorgeous without it) so I had to teach myself. There wasn’t KZbin back then, just girlfriends who were also “self taught”! I’m so glad the teens of today (and even those of us who aren’t teens) have you Emily, because these types of videos are so helpful and informative!! Even thought I’ve perfected my makeup from when I was a teenager, and I apologize to everyone who’s shirts I transferred my foundation into when I went into for a hug, I am never too old to learn a new technique or product! I have very dry under eyes so the Elf putty corrector wasn't quite hydrating enough. I found the Catrice version to be better in that regard & still be effective. Hope that helps. ❤

I never use under eye brightener. I just feel like if you’re going full coverage on concealer, it’s not as necessary. I have them but I never use them.🤷🏻‍♀️ Your eye look is gorgeous today though

I LOVE this video! It's definitely something It's definitely something I've had questions about. Thank you! I've been using the L'Oreal Le Shadow Stick you recommended and I love the creaminess and color, but it feels weirdly COLD when I apply it and that's almost burning but not? I've seen comments that it makes people's eyes water, and another KZbinr mentioned it felt cold but seem unphased, so I'm wondering if anyone else has this experience and what's going on? Is it a reaction and I should stop using it? I know a ton of lip and face products have cooling sensations built in but I've not heard of it for eyes and there's no ingredient that looks like it would be causing it. Thanks, community!

Personally I like my concealer to be the same tone as my skin. I just never got on board with the bright under eye. I understand why it's desirable. I'll be honest though. Concealer is something I'll totally skip if I'm short on time. Not because I don't have dark circles.. i guess it's just because that's the least of my worries.

I'm ultra pale with a very cool undertone - for reference my perfect foundation shade match is 00 in Dior forever or 0.5 in Revolution (a high end and affordable shade match). I love a pale pink corrector used alone on lighter coverage days and use quite a few different ones. For concealer I use the matching 00 in Dior forever concealer as it's probably half a shade lighter than the foundation. My advice is go in store and get shade matched with samples until you find the right shade for you. I'm so pale my choices are very limited as most brands don't cater to the extreme pale end of the spectrum (or the deepest of the deep in many cases). Higher end brands have larger shade selections in most cases, but there are affordable brands with fairly extensive shade options eg Revolution. I can't tell you what shade you need as I can't see you so it's absolutely essential to go in store to get matched. From there you can work out what shade you may need from many brands.
