@@Myxo14 Looks like you monitor arms are close to the wall? Don't they bang into it? I was told you need 8" to 9" of clearance behind. Is that true?

The clearance you need depends on how much articulation you need from the arm. If you need 180 degrees of motion, you'll need lots of clearance. I only need 90 degrees, so I don't need much clearance.

Happy new year...i have a question, i have a Autonomous white laminate surface and using a Apple magic mouse...if i buy the Merino large to cover the use of my mouse and Apple keyboard would i need to also buy a mouse pad or will it glide ok on the Merino surface....i also want to cut off the noise from my mouse going around and some of my keyboard noise....since i work near my daughters bedroom! Happy new year 🍻! You'll be fine with the merino mat alone for your magic mouse. I find the glide smoother and quieter on the wool vs the leather pad, but that doesn't mean the leather pad is inferior in any way - it's just a different texture. If you put on headphones, you can hear the sound of me rubbing my hand and mouse on the merino wool pad around the 2 minute mark. Grovemade focus on Apple products, so you should have no issues. Any advice for lighting for streamers? Currently using a basic ring light on a stand on my desk, trying to find options for cleaning it up

Lighting advice is tricky to give without seeing the space. With that said, if you're happy with the light from your ring, I'd continue to use it. As I'm sure you know, lighting is very important for streams, so I wouldn't sacrifice lighting quality for a cleaner desk. If you want to get your ring off your desk, depending on how much space you have, you can put your lighting on floor stands. My main light is a Godox 150 with a light dome on a floor stand. It takes up a lot of room - so that's something to be aware of. I've seen people attach their light rings to their monitor arms, so that might be something to look into as well.

I've seen countless desk setups and this one is certainly, I agree, clean. However, help me understand why is it a trend to put the large desktop on the desk taking up precious real estate? Is it a flex and appreciation of aesthetics because of the lights? If so, I'd think having it's on smaller table or something embedded in a frame on the wall would be better.

Great comment - most people who keep their PC on their desktop are PC enthusiasts. I wouldn't call it a 'flex' but rather a statement piece. I think it comes down to personal preference whether to place your PC on your desk or not. Years ago, I used to place my PC on a separate side table, but I feel it's a much cleaner look to put your PC on your desk if you have the room. That said, my next PC build will likely be an ITX case for the smaller form factor and minimal foot print, but it will definitely be on my desk because I'm a PC enthusiast!
