Thanks for this video, Im excited to get out and get some crab. Love the idea of using the rope winder to keep all the rope organized and not tangled.

Thanks for watching and glad you found this info helpful! Yes it also helps to hold excess rope in the water so you don’t have so much slack line. Good luck and go get em!

Odd, I don't have a Yak and would be unable to use one anyway but I just watched this video from start to finish. Most the guys I have met over the years have gone from snares to Yaks and I follow all of them just for the fun of it. This was informative with a couple added bonuses. Good info.

Thank you! Yes I was a bank fisherman since I was very young. I should have started Yak fishing earlier and has been a big game changer. Glad you enjoyed the video!

Thanks Paul! I have the 32 but if you have a boat I’d probably go with the XL 36

Just a little hack for those zip tie bags. Instead of ripping the end of the bag, cut a square hole in the middle of the bag. Then you can pull one out and still have a closed bag. 🤯😂

Jake! do I need a radio and a fish finder in order to go crabbing? Also how long lead core rope do I need?
@reelin_it_with_jake
@reelin_it_with_jake 2 жыл бұрын
@@tsunchan6657 it’s recommended to have a radio for safety. The fish finder definitely comes in handy to make sure you are dropping on flat sandy bottom and also to mark where you drop your hoops. One hundred to one fifty feet of lead core rope is fine.

@@reelin_it_with_jake any recommendations for radio and fish finder in a budget or good deal?
@reelin_it_with_jake
@reelin_it_with_jake 2 жыл бұрын
@@tsunchan6657 I personally use Cobra VHF radio and Hummingbird Helix 5 for FF. Garmin Striker is very budget friendly. Standard Horizon VHF is a great choice as well.

Good insights. Would like to see that custom pipe thingy in action. How secure is it?

Just a cable organizer from Walmart. You should also be able to find something similar at hardware stores.

Hey again Jake, thanks for this vid. Think you can do a quick video on how you tie your float and bumper on your leaded rope? Just got all my stuff in and got confused on how to rig it, haha.

Jake, i saw a video where you are pumping water out of your kayak. Any clues on how that water made it in to your kayak?

Yup! Two of my hatches were faulty and leaking. That combined with a day that turned very rough made for a dangerous situation!

Great stuff as always Jake. Do the legs of the custom rack slide into the grooves of your kayak or is there a way you lock them into place?
@reelin_it_with_jake
@reelin_it_with_jake 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes the single leg plugs into your sail mount hole and the front two legs slide snuggly on the sides of your bow. It’s very sturdy. I just have no need for it now that I have a trampoline that I can place my hoops on.
