I have the pleasure of knowing George very well and running into him fairly often. He showed me that pattern a few years ago and it’s one of my favorites to use along Weiss’s jig bugger. Both work very well

I’ve been tying a very similar fly last few years with same body material , but I used 10-12 strands of ostrich herl for the tail. I do a twist of olive and black straggle on the body and mixed olive n black ostrich herl on the tail. Great Stillwater fly ! I love that maribou you guys came out with ! Absolutely the best on the market.

A similar fly is popular at Clywedog Reservoir in Wales, but uses Green & Black striped silicon legs. I like the idea of using the UV Jumbo Straggle instead of UV Black fritz, better hook gape 👍

I have better hookups with a longer shank hook. I'd rather avoid the short strikes, tail grabs. But always good materials from FM, however. Cheers!

Could you please tell me the FM colors for the Maribou and UV Micro Straggle on the Olive colorway? I dont want to answer my own question, but looks like the Beown Olive Maribou and Olive or Light Olive Straggle. Thanks.

The marabou is brown olive, and the Streamer Straggle is medium olive.
