I use Koala a lot to chop samples I hear on the go, and then when I’m home quickly sample them on the SP 😅

7:45 that’s to sequence pitched versions of the “selected” sample. I’m sure all samples load in at C3 default. Awesome for hihats or one-shot instrument notes. On the sequence tab there is a key board icon, that’s the other way to enter sample “notes”

@@spvidz Chromatic mode. That probably would’ve summed it up faster

Well no, your video timestamp is the time based piano roll view for MIDI notes as per a sequencer has. Yes, it is chromatic too but of , not ! That is when you click on Chromatic and get a matrix of red squares starting at C in the middle. These scalings of a sample over a grid of red squares are the alternative to the actual piano keyboard view. This is different to the vertical piano roll of a sequencer.

Have made a few decent things with Koala! Very good if you get sudden inspiration on the go!

Absolutely one of the more brilliant apps. It sorta drives home the whole concept of “Less is More”. As for time stretch I expected Roland would have been better but seems they used some code from an older synth workstation. Or thats what folks who know more than me say on the interwebs.

Its amazingly well designed!

Regards the 3 other Stretch algorithms, use them on vocals and lengthen the amount of bars to get that early Jungle time stretch you'd hear on rasta vocals! Choppy and robotic/metal sounding. A one or two bar phrase stretched to at least double the bar length, if not more!
