The BAC 111, similar to this, with two RR Spey engines, used to go off like the proverbial rocket. With the noise level to accomadate.

@AlexPraglowskiAviation9 жыл бұрын
Wow, incredible sound indeed! Liked :)
@Sacto16549 жыл бұрын
I believe the reason for the "buzz" from the engines is the fact the tips of the front fan blades of the Tay engines are probably moving at or just over the speed of sound, which creates that distinctive noise.
@Napoleon_Blownapart9 жыл бұрын
+Sacto1654 they are way over the speed of the sound. its actually tiny pockets of air exploding due to the massive pressure it builds
@Sacto16549 жыл бұрын
+jlcame094 That's why on the latest widebody airliners, the engines have very large front fans. That way, the front fans don't need to turn so fast, and that reduces the noise level quite a bit, as anyone who've flown an Airbus A380, the new Airbus A350XWB or Boeing 787 can attest to.
@Napoleon_Blownapart9 жыл бұрын
Sacto1654 Right. But they cut on weight on the 787 by reducing the sound isolation on the cabin, it actually makes a very annoying loud high-pitched noise during the whole flight, talking by experience. But judging the comfort and silence of the A380, i can't wait for an opportunity to fly on the new A350.
@Helicopterpilot169 жыл бұрын
+Sacto1654 What really explains the buzz is the shockwaves created at the tip are normally at the Blade Pass Frequency (BPF). What creates the buzz that is usually at the frequency of a one turn revolution of the fan, this is causes by minute differences in each blade and what happens is you create faster and slower shockwaves which end up merging causing the buzz sound.
@jouniairplanevideos5 жыл бұрын
@@Sacto1654 also they have the same sound. That's todays world more common (almost alleen new planes have it)

On take-off the wing flaps dont seem to be extended down position unless the rear engines make this impractical or else the tail wing flaps serve this purpose its so true the tail flies the plane...apparantly...

I flew in a similar Fokker decades ago. I think it was an F-28. It was a connecting flight between Belgium and Germany, didn't have any type of airline livery at all. Was all, completely (of course it must have had a call sign or tail number but I can't recall that). It seemed very odd to step out of the airplane, look back and find it was a "no brand" aircraft.
