I've never seen a rotation guide like this - brilliant! As they say, simple is always the best, but it can be really hard to do simplicity 'right' - and I think that's what you have done here.

This is an awesome guide and I will definitely be sending it to my friends who are learning conquest! The only thing I wish you had added is how a player's role might affect their rotation. Like how a roamer may prefer to +1 an existing fight rather than force another 1v1, or how a support typically doesn't want to be the one going for decaps, etc. Again though, really great video!
@Shadowfall_TV

Hey One2b23! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I will talk about the differences between all of the roles in a future video. However, here is a quick explanation: 1. Roamers prioritize rotating or outnumbering fights to kill, decap, or full cap a node. After they get any of these, they can leave. 2. Side noders prioritize defending nodes your team controls. However, they can push for decaps and team fight when their nodes aren't in any threat of getting neutralized by the enemy team. 3. Supports prioritize rotating to keep their teammates alive. They need to keep moving to resustain their team wherever needed. Hope that helps! Thanks for the support :D

I liked the guide part, simple but to the point. I would add: when deciding, in addition to the pointers given in the video, think about your role/build, is your role/build good for the purpose you selected? The path of least resistance is a great advice when your team doesnt need you, but if you are the one capable of getting kills in a stalemated fight, or the one capable of keeping your allies alive in a fight thats started and your team is losing, then you have to think again about your choice. Similar happens when defending a base, you need to think about your role/build whats your team losing for having you here? what can you do in the base where you are going? will you be able to survive long enough to make the decision valuable? This is why i didnt like the quiz scenario part of the video, because is really hard to have a "correct answer", in fact is impossible to know if it was correct because there is no way of knowing what would have happened choosing differently. If i was the video creator i would have asked: "what is an intelligent decision in this scenario?" because thats our best shot, doing intelligent decisions, they can turn out well or not, you will never know, but at least there is some reasoning to it and if it goes well you will have value. And i think thats the bottomline of this video and similar ones, base your decision-making in a logic plan, dont just do anything anywhere because thats when you will either not have good possible outcomes or even if the fight goes in your favor you wont add value. For example in scenario 1, maybe you going to base 3 makes your team in base 2 get wiped, and now the enemy won 20 points on kills has 5 players capturing a base and then coming for you so they end up with 25points +2 bases. Your choice was intelligent and we can expect it to add value if it goes well, but it is not flawless. Another intelligent option would have been: as you head to base 3 look in base 2 how is the fight going now that it is a 4v5, also see if you can quickly help with a kill or support, after evaluating if you are needed there, then you can choose to keep going for base 3 or stay. For example in scenario 2 yes your choice of going to base 2 is intelligent but not flawless, what if even with you there the enemy still wins the 5v5? what if you arrive late and the allies are already about to die and now you die too? in this case then you gave away 5 points on your death plus you didnt get any points for your team form the base you could have captured. So maybe it was intelligent staying in base 3 and getting the full capture and then go to stalemate base 2, now you are getting a lot of value out of it. Or maybe going to base 2 actually earns your team a wipe on the enemy and all of the sudden it is a great choice... the point is you never know but picking smart choices will in average give your team value. For example in scenario 3 you have the inverse situation maybe you going home ends in you being killed giving the enemy +5 and a base while you left your team stalemated. Maybe another intelligent choice would have been staying in base 2 your team could wipe the enemy and have a very advantageous position. Or maybe the choice of going to base 3 is also good because even if you give up your own base you will still earn as much points, maybe if your allies die at base 2 they can respawn and go for base 1 for an easy take, while the enemy team needs to split between base 1 and base 3 that you control. Again it is not easy at all, knowing the best choice. So bottomline i would have prefered if the video didnt conclude with that section saying "what is the right answer" but instead saying "here are some smart choices based on what we discussed" I hope the creator changes that part, because as guild leader i would like to reference this video to my guild members that are into pvp

2/3 right. Not bad. I had trouble with 2, and often come across that exact scenario when taking side nodes. My mindset is usually that, since my team is losing, by the time I get there, they'll be dead, and I'll follow soon afterward feeding. Buy maybe I just need to rotate faster. Great vid!

Very well made! :D Also i would mention, that the side noder after decapping far should not run mid when his team is already about to lose or already lost the fight, so he cannot make it stable anymore and would just also suicide there. Making fights even in numbers which are already lost by remarkable hp/cds disadvantage from your team can be very dangerous.

About the first example situation: At first i was also thinking of rotating to the far point instead of joining the team in mid. But now i am not sure. I am in mid to high gold elo and i have made the experience that at my level, people dont disengage. So in the 4v5 situation at mid, i would risk my team losing the fight, dying AND having the enemy decap that point while going to the further away point (from close to far). Considering this, do you still think that i should decap far instead of helping my team win the teamfight (or at least see if they need me?)
@jiangx18
@jiangx18 Жыл бұрын
I think in scenario 2, it's better to just cap far and draw attention away from mid, side noder typically don't do well in team fights and I'm not +1 anything since my team is already losing at mid. And when you say losing at mid, do you meaning having teammate downed or dead at mid? in either case, me being a side noder will do very little rotating to mid to even the fight. Rotation should be role dependent.

I got none of the questions right on the quiz part of your vid. But there is a reason why I ended up picking the middle node most of the time. You see I play at high to mid silver when it comes to my pvp rank. I get a lot of match ups where the enemy will dominate my team and turn them into a red smear on the wall if I'm not around. So while going to cap far might be the right option on paper, I would be dealing with the entire enemy team gunning for my ass if I cap far. Since my entire team is dead at that point, because I wasn't there to help them.
@Kedgeworth
@Kedgeworth Жыл бұрын
This mindset of not trusting your team while you go for quick decaps will end up stalling you in that rank for a while. Yeah, there will be many times you lose because you weren't MVP'ing a lot of teamfights but overall you need to rely on your team to win when theory dictates. If theory doesn't win more often than not you're likely not executing theory well or the theory was flawed from the get go. If you play a class with decent mobility you should be able to decap and join tfs tho.
@Shadowfall_TV
@Shadowfall_TV Жыл бұрын
Hey Cheese! If the enemy team wipes your team at mid and push into you at far, don't worry about the node. Just run around and try to stay alive as long as possible (or indefinitely). If you stay alive against multiple opponents, your team will have a much better chance at winning the other two nodes. I hope you enjoyed the video! Thanks for the support :D

@@Shadowfall_TV Id like to follow this advice, but most of the time it doesn't really work for me. If my whole team dies, there is usually a single enemy that can counter my class really well. it seems to me that it would be better if these videos about rotation did not come out at all. almost every game someone is nonstop running to the far point and falling, and when I ask him what are you doing? he answers do you know what rotation is? he just watched the video, and all he remembered was the word "rotation", and he firmly believes that he is doing the right thing, that painting a circle for a few seconds is an incredible advantage in the game, and that the team without his support lost other points and went to respawn it doesn't bother him at all.
@randomname2366
@randomname2366 Жыл бұрын
Great guide and well crafted that said your final scenario did not match the three rules you made at the end and I disagree. In the third scenario you should rotate far because you have zero resistance and can cap in half the time the enemy rotating home can. Once you cap you rotate home and hope you can catch them before full cap. If you do this you maintain the state of the map and if you are a favorable match up once you rotate home then you can cap home as well and force the mid fight to break up in your teams favor. Learned these principles in battlefield where my friends and our squads would only play the conquest objectives. It often means doing the work that actually gets the least action but has the highest value for winning. We won entire matches in BF without firing a shot because the enemy team played so poorly we just rotated into the easiest and least defended objectives over and over again. Basic Art of War tactics to attack where the enemy is weakest and in scenario 3 that is far.
@Shadowfall_TV
@Shadowfall_TV Жыл бұрын
Hey Random! Thanks for the support! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Decapping a node takes 5 seconds, capturing a node takes 15 seconds. If you were to go far in scenario 3 to capture the node (15s), the enemy could decap home (5s) and go back to mid to outnumber your team to force a numbers advantage there for ~10 seconds. On the other hand, if you took the 1v1 at home, you're now fighting an even 1v1 on a node your team controls which retains map control for your team since mid is also a stalemated 4v4. The enemy that goes for the decap wants to get it for free and either outnumber your team or take the 5v5 again with a neutral map state afterwards. That is their ideal rotation. It's different if you are unable to match their decap or will die/lose the node quickly in the 1v1. However, if you choose to go far when you have the option of protecting the node you control while forcing 2 stalemated fights in a favorable map state, that's a bad rotation. Hope that helps!

im missing the info how long it needs to decap/cap. if i remember right its 5 sec to decap and 10 to cap from a decaped point. and the position after an situation (at best to place yourself between points so you can react faster if you are mobile enough)
@Shadowfall_TV
@Shadowfall_TV Жыл бұрын
Hey Happy! It's 5 seconds to decap, 15 to cap. Putting yourself in between two points is good if you don't know where all 5 of the enemy team members are. Once you can see all of the numbers on the map, then matching numbers is helpful. Hope that helps! Thanks for the support :)

Good video. I enjoyed the small quiz at the end although I don't agree with the second answer. Your team has been outnumbered for a while and are probably losing. A side noder coming in won't make much of an impact. Even if your team can manage to stalemate a 4v5, it's better to stay far. Because again a side noder won't have much of an impact in a team fight. Keep doing these kind of quizzes! Maybe have some of your replays paused and ask similiar questions so the viewer can analyze the situation. Also rotations for different roles would be nice to see.

I get flamed all the time for 'dying' but obviously if it takes 3 players 20 seconds to kill you that is immense profit.
@Shadowfall_TV
@Shadowfall_TV 5 ай бұрын
Hey Super! Thanks for the support! Let me give you some additional things to consider. Dying is only ever worth if you need to die on node to win a game. Asides from that, it will always be worth it to disengage the instant you're about to be outnumbered and repush the 1v1 if you're confident you can decap, kill, and/or recap the node after. Otherwise, or if you're not side noding, rotate elsewhere. For context, a high level side noder will be able to hold a 1v3 for about a minute or more and either generate (a) down(s), disengage, or stall if they really can't escape. If you're dying more than once or twice a match then something is going wrong. If you're dying in 20 seconds, you have to ask yourself what your team got as a result of that. Here are some different scenarios: 1. If you didn't buy enough time in the outnumbered fight for your teammates to generate at least 1 kill or gain map advantage, then it wasn't worth. 2. If your teammates generated 1 kill, the map will be even 4v4 after you die and whoever comes out ahead is whoever has map advantage. 3. If your teammates generate map advantage when you die but lose it in a 5v4 after, that still isn't worth as the enemy team can push a snowball. 4. If your teammates generated 2 kills and map advantage, that would be worth. Hope that helps!
