Revit's 1 year license is renewable, so it's totally free for students throughout your architecture years.

I think everyone’s aware of what’s out there in terms of software. We would have benefiting more if you showed tutorials on how you create your images and your step by step process. Similarly to when you shared your process from 3d design to final image.

I think you’d be surprised at how many questions I receive about which softwares are best to learn as a student! The intention was a clearly outline some cheap and easy to learn options for students to pick up. Doing a tutorial of a drawing from start to finish is a great idea, I did something similar on my latest course but could be an idea for a youtube video 👏🏼

Hey, Thomas. I love your videos. They are quite inspiring. I am a 13-year-old who use 3ds Max for interior design and architecture visualizations. I have also been reading a lot of books about architecture as I find it very interesting. My goal is to become an architect when I am older. If you don't mind me asking, can you share some tips about becoming an architect? The process behind it? Thanks.

Enscape actually doesn't have a free license for students anymore. Now it's around 12 $ :(

No way? The website still says it’s free?

Thank you for this video. I have to ask this can we say rhino is better than sketchup? I’ve been using sketchup for 2 years now I wonder if it’s matter for me to learn rhino
@ArjGee Жыл бұрын
Honest question. Has anyone learned all three modelling softwares? Revit, Sketch-Up, Rhino. And if so, which one is your preference for your projects? I’ve never used Rhino, but always lean towards Revit over Sketch-Up.
@F1_LightsOut Жыл бұрын
I’ve learnt sketch up and rhino and would always choose rhino. It’s more complicated to pick up but it’s just better. I’ve tried to learn revit but it was a bit overwhelming especially when I’m so used to rhino. Revit is much more rigid than rhino, I’d use rhino if you’re a student.

I would suggest you use rhino at university. Revit is too restrictive as a student, however it is a must learn software for practice. So I’d just weigh up what you think will be the most effective option for you whilst studying

@@ThomasRowntreethanks Thomas. I’m just about to do my final year, (Masters). I understand what you’re saying about Revit being a focus for practice rather than your studies. But ironically, revit is what got me through projects from the end of Year 2 all the way to Year 4. That’s why I’m in a bit of a conundrum. But it wouldn’t hurt expanding my skill set with sketch-up maybe. I 100% agree about the Adobe suite. You’re blogs are very helpful ❤

as someone who learnt all three, (imo) Rhino is king but Revit is more valuable on a CV as it's an industry standard. It depends on what you prefer tho; I've seen some phenomenal projects made on SketchUp.
