Santos is built on an abandoned limestone quarry, that's where all the elevation comes from. Very well built trails and the most visited trail system in FL. Thanks for featuring Santos!

What?? No jumping in "the pit"?? or the wooden corkscrew down?? Truth is there are so many areas and trails in Santos! You should check out the Santos MB festival, it's awesome!! 🤙✌

Proud watching y'all showcase Santos. My fam and I live an hour south from there in West Orlando. Also badass trails like Santos near Tampa in a little town called Lithia. Two parks built on abondoned phospate mines from 1950's called Balm Boyette and another a mile away called Alafia State Park. Central Florida has mtb trails all over believe it or not. We work with what we have to work with down here and make it happen. Thanks for the post.. glad you had fun in Florida... land of the free!

Yes, you are right. They do have races in just the Vortex area. Usually referred to as the 12 hour of Santos, except for this year. It was a 30 or 60 mils endurance race option. I did it and went for the 60 miler. It rained an hour into the race. Made for sketchy riding. Especially on those wooden features. They also have a endurance race on the Landbridge area called the Hammerehead, and a XC race at the Santos Trailhead areas.

The lady from Santos bike shop was my high school music teacher! I Love being back in Florida. I missed the beaches and springs where the temp is 72 degrees year round.

Instantly recognized Wakulla Springs. North Florida has some great trails, especially Red Bug and Lafayette in Tallahassee. Not quite up to Santos, but still nice.

So funny you compared it to BC. People look at me like I am clueless to the PNW when I say that....even tho I am from there. So my Knolly is perfect for FL. Lol.

Hopefully you guys go to ABC (Alafaia, Balm Boyette and Carter Rd) they’re close to each other and well worth it! Some of the best trails in Florida! Just watch out in Carter and Balm Boyette for alligators 😁 They call Carter Rd “the swimmers club” for a reason! LOL you’ll see if you go! 😆😉
