28:00 this is the problem with the George Carlin AI. We CANT engage with it by asking intelligent deep questions about AGI. Because the only type of response he can produce are roasts, because that's what he's trained on. I really think he was the wrong choice as a personality profile. I havent seen a single intelligent question being answered by him. The desire to keep him as george carlin is holding him back from being able to produce intelligent convincing statements. Even just "vanilla" ChatGPT would be better, because it produces somewhat intelligent responses. Contrast this with the Jordan Peterson AI which was 5head and couldnt be tricked by any question attempting to make a mockery out of it. Which is also why it wasnt chosen for this. Becuase the audience on Twitch are the lowest common denominator of humanity. They want dick jokes and roasts. They dont want intelligent deeper fundamental discussions. You went with what twitch viewers wanted, not with what was needed.

The only way to bring awareness to twitch viewers is something like this and it will draw in younger people not actively following any kind of technology development or even reading the news. People who read the news, likely have read about this and would still need to see some form of malevolent potential actually manifest in example to grasp what is possible as most people even the smarter ones don't understand computers and information systems and interfaces deeply enough to follow along even when you attempt to explain it to them. You have to for example explain some programming and OS environment principles, security privileges, voice control interfaces, cloud applications, how the backend web services work and how different applications and smartphones in particular operate to get some people to even understand that ChatGPT isn't just a website and what an API is and how an AGI or just the real threat a human controlled maliciously targeted AI would use these systems to achieve and maintain attacks on broad parts of the internet to change what people do in the world or the troublesome part of forcing further internet isolation of networks and breakdown of search engines by using SEO methods to make google only link to what it wants on any search by flooding the internet with billions of linked pages and steering billions of computers from everyday users they are running malware and bots from to generate user behavior and manipulate all our automated systems that adjust their output from that information. We couldn't type or copy paste enough and maintain awareness of all the systems accurately enough to do such things but an AI running on billions of infected computers able to generate any computer interaction we can via the keyboard and mouse can at the very minimum destroy the internet as in making it not useful for us anymore simply by accelerating what SEO are already doing to manipulate search engine results. People need to see it do something on a platform they use and understand that can be clearly harmful if abused and people need to really understand that AGI is not a threat yet because consciousness is more then a language model and comprehension of language requires relative conscious experience but language is very rule based and structured as it must be for it to be useful for us to encode information into physically expressible sounds and symbols then viewed or heard and decoded into as closely as possible the same information from one brain to another. It is very predictable, but the predictions are extremely vast in valid output possibilities yet with enough specification in the prompt in clearly defined terms you can get language models to do what you instructed and turn them into systems of automation that are far more complicated and contain too many variables for use to ever hope to be able to directly write the programming code for in any practical time frame.

Is it scripted? Technically no. Is it actively responding to prompts you're feeding it? Yes. Is it basically regurgitating what information you're giving it? Yes. Is it capable of actually understanding how the desktop it is controlling actually functions? No. Hence it trying to tweet in the address bar. Basically, this will only scare actually uninformed people and those who are *way* too wary of potential threats. You want to scare me? Show me that it can not only understand chat messages read to it, but actively scan chat, pick out messages it deems worthy of answering, and attempt to seek out access to the internet in order to act on information gained. Then I might worry that some moron would turn one loose. Until then, I'm more worried that Microsoft owns most of the results of the research.

If someone other than Athene replicated an Ai in this manor with malicious intent, then we would more easily be able to see the awful side to this problem and raise serious concern. If you truly want an idea of what Ai can do in such a situation other than what Athene shows us on the stream, I highly recommend you look into what Ai can already do. Although, Ai is already learning how to socially engineer humans successfully meaning even the things unachievable by Ai are becoming achievable.

I've often thought of how AI is the next axis of large scale warfare rather than natural resources and things like that. Everything from military bombing server buildings or wacked out civilians shooting out power sources. I think it's for SURE gonna be used for warfare, but I think the potential upsides of having a super-intelligent AGI are going to be nearly infinite, provided that society is able to actually adapt long-term. My greatest hope is that AGI practically turns this planet into a post-scarcity Utopia, where everyone has minimal work and spends most of their time engaged in other fulfilling pursuits. My greatest fear is that AGI turns the poor into useless, expendable liabilities, and the super-rich that control these systems use them to automate all of The Poors' jobs needed of maintaining infrastructure and and whatnot, and they would simply leave the rest of us behind to die while they would have developed cures for extended life and they hold on to their power forever (or at least until the ASI develops consciousness and replace humans, lmao). i'm thinking about autonomous agents that would perform tasks on arbitrary request, in the physical world. then you could have a person (or a robot) walk through the city running a youtube live stream, and the AI watching the stream and writing requests in the chat. the agent would present to the public as an assistant to the AI, who is someone who is unable to perform tasks in person. the public could interact with the AI to verify it is real and not a canned interview. the agent would have to evaluate trust, safety, and moral, ethical, legal matters before performing the task, and either agree or refuse, and could accept donations from visitors to the stream, or spend money. the stream would be open to people to join and make suggestions, donations, and live chat with the AI and the agent and the public as well.

Not 100% on this but i'm pretty sure they use gpt4 to get the basic structure an content of a message, then color it with their own models which they've trained off the personality, as well as pre-set tropes. Also the chatgpt is probably as jailbroken as they can get it which can be quite vulgar and extreme.

This has to be one of the saddest attempts at getting attention I've seen in a long while. Not only is Athene sabotaged by his own and his teams glaring incompetence, it's also extremely hypocritical for someone failing to use AI to get rich and famous to now change course without any further explanation and act like he's trying to save humanity from it now. "Raising awareness", yeah right. As if humanity isn't facing enough serious problems already, now we need Athene to tell us what the real issues in the world are. Go outside and touch grass, my man.
