In reference to the legalities reguarding use of the American flag and/or its images. These guys are lucky they're not in D.C. stiff fines for having a flag image on a coke machine. Anyways, there are codes, but speculation as to enforcement of them. But as it is, this is the section that covers this situation in (i) and (j). 4 U.S. Code § 8.Respect for flag No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor. (a) The flag should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property. (b) The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, the floor, water, or merchandise. (c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free. (d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. It should never be festooned, drawn back, nor up, in folds, but always allowed to fall free. Bunting of blue, white, and red, always arranged with the blue above, the white in the middle, and the red below, should be used for covering a speaker’s desk, draping the front of the platform, and for decoration in general. (e) The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way. (f) The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling. (g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature. (h) The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything. (i) The flag should never be used for advertising purposes in any manner whatsoever. It should not be embroidered on such articles as cushions or handkerchiefs and the like, printed or otherwise impressed on paper napkins or boxes or anything that is designed for temporary use and discard. Advertising signs should not be fastened to a staff or halyard from which the flag is flown. (j) No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations. The flag represents a living country and is itself considered a living thing. Therefore, the lapel flag pin being a replica, should be worn on the left lapel near the heart. (k) The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning. (Added Pub. L. 105-225, § 2(a), Aug. 12, 1998, 112 Stat. 1497.)

Probation/parole agents are limited jurisdiction enforcement officers and not first responders, their powers of arrest are limited to citizens on probation or parole exclusively and as such they do not have to fully develop interpersonal communication skills. This is the same reason that a lot of LEOs ask citizens if they are on probation-parole to exert their influence over those already in the system.

People are not obligated to follow the masses. Some need to be placed in that sort of situation in order to understand for themselves. It's not inherently a bad thing. They most definitely are looking for some sort of reaction. This has nothing at all to do with doing the right thing for the sake of the community.. these two are rude, condescending and a little bit ignorant. It’s all for views. Again, reaction. Reaction = views. Calling these engagements “audits” is only meant to justify the behaviors exhibited within the interactions you see here. I do not respect people who do this. If you are being harassed and recording or reporting on what has occurred, that is one completely different thing. But going out and searching for a pot of trouble to stir is not helping ANYbody. It isn’t educating ANYbody. When these guys leave, everyone that was “educated” is only pissed off and talking mad shit about these guys. So...some guy walks up to you on the street, asks if he can help you, then says his name is "Lopez" and then immediately asks for ID. Yeah, like anyone in their right mind would just give a total stranger their ID. I'm guessing he wants your drivers license. Change it back on him. "Say Lopez, can I look at your drivers license? How about your social security card? Can you give me your birthdate as well? How about your phone number?" Bet he'd refuse to give you any of that info.
@MrTheHillfolk7 жыл бұрын
It would be fun to appear to comply, start to reach for your wallet and start to grab your id and say: um I just remembered I have rights. (As you close your wallet and put it back) And watch the look of disappointment on their face.

@Rogue Mentality Sovereign citizens nor you know your rights. The right to travel does not mean you can drive without registration, insurance, plates or license. You've clearly never read the actual The Right to Travel in the Constitution since it encompasses different rights and none say that you don't a registration, insurance, plates or license to drive. Traveling is a right, driving is a privilege. The 10th Amendment gives the States the power to regulate themselves which includes their roadways which every State in America has issued into law that you need registration, insurance, plates and license to operate a motor vehicle on the roadways. "This is well established case law and is recognizable in any court should you find yourself in one." Haha show me one case where a sovereign citizen has tried this and won. I know multiple who have tried and lost cause its just pseudo-legal nonsense.

Criminal penalties for certain acts of desecration to the flag were contained in Title 18 of the United States Code prior to 1989. The Supreme Court decision in Texas v. Johnson; June 21, 1989, held the statute unconstitutional. This statute was amended when the Flag Protection Act of 1989 (Oct. 28, 1989) imposed a fine and/or up to I year in prison for knowingly mutilating, defacing, physically defiling, maintaining on the floor or trampling upon any flag of the United States. The Flag Protection Act of 1989 was struck down by the Supreme Court decision, United States vs. Eichman, decided on June 11, 1990. No federal agency has the authority to issue 'official' rulings legally binding on civilians or civilian groups.

Right to Record i recently read somewhere that desicration of the flag is held under the 1st amendment, im looking into this further to find out the wording and possible case law involved.

Yup, a flag you bought, is your property. I served to defend freedom...Not a flag that is treasoned and seditioned by treasonous felons infesting this government coast to coast millions of time a day.....And that is being used treasonously across the middle east for destruction, terrorism and murder.....
@streamsofconsciousness86517 жыл бұрын
totally agree. a flag is a piece of printed cloth that you own and is yours to do what you wish with. If people want to hold something sacred, then hold sacred the principles and freedoms the country holds dear, don't slavishly worship somebody else's piece of printed cloth.

How about we make government stay within the restrictions of the constitution and all law enforcement is to only hold positions thru the election process. We abolish all state local and federal police since they are unconstitutional. And we then police ourselves with the help of a few public officials like the elected sheriff. Electeded prosecutor. And elected judge. That is how it is laid out in our constitution. No society can be free with a gang ruling over it. In 1776 the police were called red coats. You already know how that turned out. And it isnt far away from happening again.

@noahberger87607 жыл бұрын
Maybe they need to be more specific. I took the sign as meaning "No stickers that appear to be cell phones allowed". Else it would be an actual cell phone behind that red barred circle. Or maybe 'a sign' can have no true authority unless one allows it. ..Its like the old signs that said "thank you for not smoking", one could always say, "no thanks necessary' and light up anyway.

Why do people find it necessary to irritate guys like this or officers on the street? These guys aren't making the laws, they are just out making a living. I fully support enforcing the constitution but it's not these guys or the officers on the street that are making Dept policy. The lawmakers and the courts are the ones that need watching. Ultimately, they are the ones that dictate what Dept policy will be. You achieve nothing by irritating officers on the street. The officer on the street has no more power to change something than you or I do. Irritating him achieves nothing. Petition the lawmakers or take a case through the court system. That's how our system is designed to work.
