You who have just started pottery! Do you stretch and mold the clay with a hand wheel?
In hand-rokuro production, I think that there are many things like "Pinch with your fingers to thin the clay and finish molding!" But ... It is possible to spread the clay firmly even in hand-rokuro production.
The process of spreading this clay is quite difficult ...
This video explains how to spread clay with a hand wheel.
Please master it firmly and make a work that is comparable to electric potter's wheel molding.

@kiraku-pottery
@kiraku-pottery 3 ай бұрын

@kiraku-pottery
@kiraku-pottery 3 жыл бұрын

Hi Kiraku! Thank you for this example. It is as you said. That bowl looks like it was formed on an electric potter's wheel. Very good job. This week my new Shimpo RK-3D arrived. I did a video demonstration so everyone can see how nice the product is. My studio is very small. But it works. The first thing I made on the new wheel was also a bowl. The clay used is a bright red stoneware. You can see here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/onOWYpZ5fqZrmc0

I appreciate your time. The new electric wheel performs so well. I will always buy Shimpo brand. The video I filmed has subtitles on Japanese to make your experience more enjoyable. If Google translates correctly. =)

Thank you for the Japanese subtitles! I think it was difficult. Let's continue to share information with each other.

Yes, I would like that very much. You are very skilled and I can learn a lot from your experience. I'm working on better cameras to film in my studio. I want to make videos on the process of throwing different pots. Not really educational ones like yours. My skills are not quite there yet. But more of a way to make a record of my time spent improving my work. There are many techniques I've seen you use in your tutorials. I will continue to learn, always. Thanks for your support.
