The guilding wax is sheer genius. It sets off the new hardware. I also like the new moulding on the cabinet to tie it into the desk. You’ve definitely made a silk purse out of a sow’s ear with this project!

This was a jaw dropping transformation. I love seeing a MDF piece given new life every once in a while instead of just the well made, more expensive solid wood ones. This shows we can still use those less expensive pieces instead of throwing them out.

I will admit that I groaned when you said that the customer wanted those pieces to be painted blue. BUT, the shade that you chose was so beautiful!! You went above and beyond to add more details, and the hardware you chose was stunning! The results were fantastic!!! I'm sure the owner was over the moon with joy when she saw them. I was too, and they're not even mine. Now, I'll be biding my time until you release another video, and I know I'll be stunned with the results once again.

These two pieces were so dissimilar in the before state that I wondered how you were going to make them look like related pieces of furniture. Using the same paint color on both pieces was a given, but what really brought them together was the gold edging around doors and drawers and the very distinctive door/drawer pulls you used. I think you will have a very happy customer with this project. Congratulations!

You must have put in a zillion hours on these, but it certainly shows in the details. The writing desk is a charmer and now it invites someone to spend time with pen and ink. I love the drawer pulls - they are so upscale and visually interesting. You are a lucky man to have so many critters, from dogs to ducks, close to home. Do Mabel and Daisy ever play together? Daisy has the cutest butt wiggle when she's excited. The dovetails are so satisfying to see, and great reminders that the pieces were renovated with TLC. Great comments from you as always… these took me about a week to do and the main challenge was finding space in my little workshop for all the painted panels to dry etc. Daisy and Mabel play occasionally in the garden, it’s like two whirlwinds chasing each other. American mild flower girl now comes out as a princess! Lovely work details are wonderful! The only thing that makes painting, a bad choice is how it’s done. You however, aren’t artist who is able to look beneath the veneer and see true beauty. I would buy such an item myself, just because I miss having a writing desk.

You did a great job on these. The old finish was really badly done and I think the only option was a repaint. I would generally be in the natural wood camp but as this was a customer commission you didn’t have an option and chose a lovely finish. The handles and gold burnish took this to another level. Loved the gold gilding! I'm sure the owner was very happy. So glad you took off all the hardware, including the hinges. I just watched another KZbin furniture transformation and they took off all hardware and left the hinges. Two different colors of gold did not look good at all.

I wasn’t too sure about the color at first but these pieces turned out beautiful. Love them both. I feed ducks, birds, rabbits and just about any other critter that comes in my yard too. Mabel is adorable but then so is Daisy. Love your channel.
