While Wekiva is excellent, with wintering in FL nearby and next closest State Park is Blue Springs. If you can get reservations, do it. While you can swim/dive during the warm month as it turns cold from mid Nov on, swimming and all other water activity in the spring is prohibited. When the temps drop into the 40's and lower, hundreds of manatee will come in from the St Johns River to warm up in the constant 72 degree water. Temps dropped to 37 last night and reporting an all-time record count of over 900 in the half mile spring run that has a trail/boardwalk for viewing. Be aware of day traffic on high demand days like this will partially close the park when all parking (approx 150 spaces) is filled, resorts to one out, one in and the line can be 2 hours. They do make accommodation for campers stuck in the line, when they see you will direct you in through the exit lane - but generally, you are already in the park from overnight.

It is a great place for camping, or even just spending the day. We love our Entegra Odyssey. Best floor plan for us. Very comfortable!
