Discover the charm of Wimbledon with our comprehensive walking tour, taking you from the bustling Wimbledon train station to the iconic tennis arena. Join us as we explore the hidden gems and local favourites of this historic London suburb.
TO NOTE: if you’re travelling here, buses from Wimbledon train station are 93, 200, 493 - they take you up the hill to Wimbledon Village, and you can walk to the tennis centre. Or get on/stay on the 493 that goes all the way there. During the tennis championships in July, you can walk in about 20 minutes, or look out for special buses ferrying visitors direct.
Our journey begins at Wimbledon station, where we'll guide you step-by-step through the picturesque streets. We'll make our way to the heart of Wimbledon Village, known for its quaint boutiques, cafes, and traditional pubs. Along the route, we'll reveal three secret spots that only locals know about, giving you an authentic taste of Wimbledon life.
As we wander through the leafy streets, you'll learn about Wimbledon's rich history, from its origins as a rural village to its transformation into a world-famous sporting destination. We'll point out notable architecture, share interesting anecdotes, and provide insider tips on the best places to eat and shop.
The highlight of our tour is, of course, the legendary Wimbledon tennis grounds. We'll show you how to get from Wimbledon train station to the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, home of the prestigious Wimbledon Championships.
