Good Lord just out it everywhere😂…sounds like me! I’m having a hard time with the transition between landscapes and botanicals but that’s just me, not on you by any means. I’m just used to you and landscapes…shaking me up, Trina! In the end it comes back to landscapes and I love it!!!

@@swl9270 haha! I’m going to keep playing with botanicals in the landscape. Still trying to find what works for me. It’s not quite there yet, but I think the square format is going to work best. It feels less ‘landscapey’ than a rectangle. Thanks my friend. 😍

I love your work. I did notice you didn’t like the paint seeping under the stencil. Stencil Girl says use a sponge with pouncing motion. If paint seeps under you are using too much paint or not pouncing up and down. I hope you continue to share your work as it is so inspiring.

I like the outcome. It reminds me if an industrial site that is decaying. The walls look like painted cobblestone, there is a an iron gate that is falling apart. The paint is peeling. I love industrial decay.

Love it💕. Question: when using the stencils, have you tried using sponges instead of dry brush? If so, which do you prefer and why? Thanks 🙏
@MixedMediaArtByTrina5 ай бұрын
Thanks! I have used both. I find the sponges give a smoother result and the brushes when dry give a textured result. Hope that helps! 😍

That is the Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold from Golden. Unfortunately, it’s discontinued at the moment but they are working on a new formula. You might be able to find it online, however, the prices are outrageous. 😍

@@MixedMediaArtByTrina many thanks 💐

You can mix your own version. This is from Golden “Unfortunately, there is no perfect replacement for Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold at this time, but a blend of 4 parts Transparent Red Iron Oxide (PR101) and 1 part Nickel Azo Yellow (PY150), as shown here, should get you into a similar range in the masstone with a glowing orange undertone.” And if you look up how to mix Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, you’ll find a number of people have created colour mixes from all kinds of reds, browns & yellows to give you a similar colour. This is another example “By blending a Quinacridone Gold Red Shade with Nickel Azo, the new blend called Quinacridone/Nickel Azo Gold achieves the wonderful characteristics of the original Quinacridone Gold, including a warm yellow-gold quality in the undertone as well as a tight tint.” From just paint

Trina , do you know how to get pencil marks on the gelli plate. Do you clean your stencils or not?
@MixedMediaArtByTrina5 ай бұрын
There is a technique where you can use soft graphite marks on paper, apply it to the Gelli plate, then use acrylic medium to transfer the marks. It will leave marks on your Gelli plate but you can remove those with baby oil. I’m bad about cleaning my stencils. Every couple of months I soak them in soapy water for a day and the paint comes off. Hope that helps! 😍

With traditional monoprinting you soak or dampen paper before printing. Have you ever tried this with gel plate printing?
@MixedMediaArtByTrina5 ай бұрын
Great question. I haven’t tried damp paper. Printmaking ink is thicker and a different viscosity than acrylic paint. It might make the paper receive the paint better or it might make the image softer. Hmm. 🤔
