Thank you for giving Shalimar a well deserved mention. It won best female perfume of 2020 in the fragrantica awards. I get what you say about it being old fashioned. But too many perfumes of today are all to similar the sickly sweet celebrity stuff it's also becoming desirable to turn to older vintage scents after all they paved the way for our market now.

I'm so curious to try the rest of the Sí range. Ordered my first one yesterday (the one you mention in this video). I'm so excited. Recently bought Prada infusion d'iris after being given a sample maybe 7 years ago and being obsessed with it. Took me a long time to finally allow myself to spoil myself. Something about the pandemic has given me a "use the best cutlery, sleep on the nice sheets, spray your perfume, don't save it for 'later' anymore" attitude to life.

I think Calvin Klein has a lot of really fantastic perfumes such as Euphoria, Deep Euphoria, Reveal and my favorite one Obsession. I also really like Estee Lauder as I wore Beautiful at my wedding and a completely different perfume from the same brand Youth Dew.

I love Miss Dior and Absolutely Blooming. Another that smells amazing, in my opinion is Dior Joy (beautiful). I also have Mademoiselle and I definitely prefer the Dior perfumes over it. I wish Si lasted longer and their My Way has such a unique smell, ot is so gorgeous and unlike anything I have come across and I am a perfume addict.lol

I loved the scent of Miss Dior EDP but it did not last on my skin at all, same with La Vie Est Belle. Love the scents but no lasting power. I love Thierry Mugler and Guerlain scents because they seem to have a lot of staying power on me. I think I will try out a couple of you other suggestions here. Thanks for sharing!

I love Chanel No5 L'eau and Chance eau Tendre. Both are modern and youthful. Chance eau Tendre is perfect for working in an office environment. I’m thinking Youth Dew and Obsession should be in that list. Love the Youth Dew bath oil. I’m not sure if you can still get it. Doesn’t have the same sharp edges as the EdP and develops beautifully on the skin. It is old fashioned but it is a classic.

I think all of them are extremely overpriced. They disappear quickly because they are colognes priced like Eau de Parfum. A real rip off. I returned the larger ones I bought, for that reason. I have Red Roses, because it really smells like fresh cut red Roses but it has no anchors to make it last. I bought a small bottle to carry with me and use it for summer, spraying myself every hour or two. They absolutely have no lasting power.

I do love Britneys fantasy and have brought numerous bottles throughout the yrs I have 1 in use and 2 backups. But my absolute favs are the naughty and nice remix flankers but it's such a shame they smell so much better but were only limited editions. I don't know why some of the nicest perfumes are limited or discontinued whilst others no where near as nice keep going. I can't get over Giorgio red being discontinued but yellow still popular

I think my nose is broken:( I’m new to purfumes and went to a store to smell some of the most well known purfumes and didn’t enjoy them at all. I’m only 19 so maybe they’re a bit too mature for me? Not too sure. I love sweet, and also fresh scents but can’t seem to find the one. Body sprays work best for me at the moment, but I have Versace bright crystal and dolce garden on the way so can’t wait to see how I like those:)

Don't feel alone, your nose is NOT broken. Some of these dominating notes are just too much and it's not an age thing. I'm a mature woman & found most of the perfumes that Soki mentioned too strong and off-putting. Great perfumes, yes, but not to everyone. Perfume is SO personal. When I went to Sephora in December I sprayed Miss Dior and Coco Mademoiselle, these are 2 that most women rave about, but I immediately gagged. Even hours later, the dry-down was still too much and I had to shower and change before dinner. There are definitely specific strong notes that I just find overbearing. I wish I can talk to a perfume expert to find out which notes I can't stand. I literally stopped hanging out with certain women that wear Dior Poison because it smells like bug spray and rotting fruit to me...just too strong. Yet most people will tell you it's the best perfume made, lol. Soki is not wrong, but neither are you.

I have bulgari rose goldea, bright chrystal absolu, my burberry, dkny in2U, gucci flora, black opium, scandal, mon paris and i just my self last xmas ellie saab gOn 😁 got many compliments frm wearing those perfumes and i felt like i am just aftr for the compliments but never really found the one yet thou i enjoyed the girl of now and versace dylan blue but still 🤷‍♀️ I tried moschino and it was heaven to me.. Thierry Mugler Alien, soki, it's a clàssique staple for soooo many people! Even In Fragrance yt community. My variety is essence absolue, discontinued unfortunately. I have not found anything surpassing it designer or niche. Truly devastated. Pls give me some advice anyone what I can substitute it with after my last 100 MLS run out. 😭😭😭

Ah yes I forgot alien 👽 essence absolute is very strong - will be hard to replace. Maybe by mixing Dior poison and Dior addict 🤔

I feel your pain. I scoured the Internet and took a chance on ebay. Of course I paid through the nose, but Alien Absolute is my favorite. I also picked up the prereformulation Alien which has Thierry Mugler in cursive, on the box on eBay. Had to pay more though, but just got into perfumes in the last year. Never thought I would fall in love with these two, but I did.
