I had one of the cheaper ones & it was ok. This time round no good. I think they hit & miss. Save $5 not worth the head ach

Good test Victor. Yeah looks like they jump up in amps when under load, kinda useless really. I've got the same ones, think I'll replace them if I want to try using two 1100's. Thanks for that. 👍

Exactly what I’m thinking. It’s kinda obvious that they’d be drawing more amps when starting and then level out but the scenario in which Vic was testing wasn’t the most accurate way in my opinion. Through no fault of his but I can’t help but wonder if moments of cavitation was also reflected in the tests? I’m aware that the test wasn’t done for that long but I’m curious as to what effect prolonged use would be on the amperage drawn due to motor heat also? I’m a chippy by trade so my knowledge of voltage and amperage is next to zero 😂 Cheers mate 🍻🍻🇦🇺

It surprised me a bit today. I was thinking 5amps each max. Just means I have to get 2 more seaflow ones so I have back ups

Nice test - thanks for sharing - Just from listening to the cheap pumps running when they were only drawing 3 amps , it sounded like they were free spinning and not actually moving water - when air gets into the impeller space , it stops the action - I best go check my 2 pumps to see if the outlet has deteriorated - your pumps look like rats been chewing on 'em.

It just looks like they gone brittle. Will repair them & you can see if you can get any use from them.

The elcheepos sounded fairly noisy, they will draw a few more amps under load, in the second run you did with them they went up to 12-15 amps which is fairly high for such a small pump. It's a pity you cant do a follow up test under load of the elcheapos to check each one of their amp draw, and check if any of the power plugs get warm or hot. Cheers

The power plug was hot. In the first test, I ran them in the hose that was lifted a meter high. For whatever reason, when running 2, there were 15 plus amps. Running the Seaflow 7amps.

@@MurrayRiversGoldAdventures My thoughts are that the pump that is drawing the most amps and wiring getting warm to hot, even the body may get warm as well will most likely be the problem pump. But then again you may have issues with both of them. Anyway sounds like you are going to pass them on to the Fidler if anybody can bring them back to life it will be him. Cheers

fidler will take them mate good test , i have one of those chepo ones hadend had any problem with it used it a bit on a car battery on the creek in my early days b4 i got a petrol pump, but that big pump mite be the go they work good

It's very rare to get a pump using less than what they day. That's my first pump.

Removing the guard , reveals that the seaflo impeller has 5 vanes rather than 3 , and also there are 2 deflectors moulded to the wall in the impeller chamber. Whether this causes the efficiency difference I dunno , but poorer design may also be in the motor construction as well. Also , the seaflo has a longer output pipe , but doesn't seem any stronger - perhaps the plastic ain't as flimsy

Most probably, the type of plastic used or the filler. If you put much filler in that make the plastic hard it will break easily

@@mohammednovalija it’s the stuff they put into the mix when producing the plastic to reduce the cost of quality materials…. or not 😂

That's right, or if the mix is incorrect. Talcum power is added to make the plastic stiff

Cheaper plastic will use cheap fillers like talcum power. Too much & it becomes brittle
