I removed the foot pedals immediately after purchase, they are a tripping hazard. I picked the craft because of the stability and pure simplicity. As my anchor is manual, my mini outboard is pull start with a tiller and I like to snorkel off the yak, too many obstructions and it become too hazardous. Personally I find the uni-track much more functional as for instance a rod holder can be loosened and moved way up or down the track with just a thumbscrew, in a matter of seconds. If you do not like the tracks you can totally remove it and just plug the two screw holes. I sit backwards and steer with the tiller while trolling, this craft is perfect for this. When cutting off those adjustment wings on your seat at the articulation point then your seat will also fit in sideways in the kayak, if you not a stiffy then this is a great way to troll or sit with your feet hanging off the side while your bum stays dry. Lovely while anchored bait casting or dropping bait deep. That hole in the hull is to hang a transducer I believe and mine actually sits tightly inside, hot-glued sealed, not leaking, huge difference. Slip a 1/2" or smaller diameter upvc hose around the bottom of the pod and hotweld the ends together but leave some breathing holes, when you drop in the pod the press hard down before clipping it in, it will seal and reduce the amount of water spilling in under the pod. I have seen guys closing the bottom of the pod opening with resin and fiber, for myself under your pod is where I have my live bait bag. I had a leaking hatch, the one on the stern bulkhead, the casing was cracked due to the bulkhead no being molded flush (yours seems to be way better than mine) and as you screw the hatch on it bends the casing back flush hence the cracks. I told them I would fix it myself, Feelfree delivered 2 new hatch assemblies with a rubber sealant. No issues since. The Johnny Bass is a good little boat, don't let those small imperfections get you down, Good luck to you.

I’m considering getting one. My big question is how does it feel on your back after a while in the seat? I have a crapped out back and need something I can move around in a little bit. Last is just a me thing. It’s not a VIN number. The last letter “N” stands for number. It’s merely a VIN.

With anything, sitting for a while will mess with your back. For me, I have no issues. I stand from time to time with the assistance of the stand up bar and stabilizer for balance. But my back isn't crapped out. Seats are comfy but don't expect it to be zero gravity lol. I hope that answered your question. As for the vin#, it's a Hull Identification number if you want to get technical. Def need it to be correct to register it though. Happy fishing🎣

I agree! I love that boat, but buying a separate adapter to add accessories, doesn't make sense. The transom plate should come with the biat. Cpl other issues as well. 100
