Just because you love a movie doesn't mean you remember everything about it lol, especially when they only mentioned it in 1 or 2 scenes. Plus when the plot for 8 different halloween films is Michael tracking down his family you'd tend to forget when you're not a diehard fan lol.

Die hards listened to the countless times the entire staff behind the film hammered home the fact it was a main reason why they didnt leave Halloween 2 canon. He wasnt tracking down any family in the beginning, its strange, i thought a diehard fan would now that lol
