With all due respect to the sheikh but I think he is living in la la land when he preaches that u're obligated to bend over backwards 4 family members who ain't doing u right!! That simply makes no damn sense period!! We ain't living in utopia cuz this has real life consequences. There is a reason God gave u a brain to think 4 yoself in order 2 protect yoself against elements of society who wanna do u harm regardless of them being yo blood family. The sheikh's rhetoric sounds mo like religious indoctrination rather than the need 2 apply common sense where it is due. Ru telling me that if u had a family member who has stolen from u before, that according to yo preachings ur obligated 2 call em now n then 2 check on their well-being simply cuz they're blood relatives?? Ru out of yo freakn mind?? Call me crazy but that is what I refer 2 as insanity without throwing rocks!! We need to stop burdening the man upstairs with our failures to apply common sense when we need 2 cuz there is a good reason y we were given brains. God was simply filling up an emtpy space in yo head. Critically thinking, if God was going 2 do all the thinking 4u, then y would he/she bother implanting a brain in yo skull?? We need to start reading between the lines when it comes 2 the scriptures. Otherwise, we gonna end up in the deep end where even God will not be willing 2 throw us a lifeline based on the level dumbness we've exhibited!! So please don't confuse real life with the purported gossip truth!! Cuz the consequences may turn out 2b fatal!! Folks, just cuz the good sheikh read it from somewhere n is invoking it, doesn't make it an automatic fact. We need 2 start critically analyze these things!! I've watched n agree on a lotta topics the sheikh has discussed. But this is one of those that I got a problem with his reasoning cuz it is not based on reality other than on the illusion of religious indoctrination!!

Family members like mothers and fathers should be obeyed as long as they are not diverting you from God's orders and regulations. Convert to Islam and with time they will get used to you. Just know that whatever challenges you may receive from your family due to your decision is just a test from Allah to you to make you firm in Islam and determined to stay in it so if you face resistance but you persist then that's the best decision God wants from you
