Awe, sending so much love. If it makes you feel any better, this week I was in downtown and needed to pay for parking and I was trying to download the app and yeah, totally went to a bogus website, had to cancel my debit card, ugh, I know better!! I honestly wouldn't blame Temu but maybe that's just pie in the sky thinking. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Thanks for sharing Kim. Love on those grand babies, that will help!!

I'm so sorry you're going through this! This is one reason I don't do Temu. I have scammers call me on robo calls but I never answer the phone. Unless I know who's calling on my caller ID or someone starts talking and it's something I need to pick up I do. Someone tried to break into my computer too...that was bad but I ignored it and didn't click on anything. They are hardened criminals and this is how they make their living. I do use Paypal and have been using it for years. I think they have good security. Scammers are forever emailing me from supposedly Amazon too. I've learned from Amazon what to look for on the emails so I'll know it's from them. They rarely email you. I did like your haul today and the things Sue Ellen made are beautiful!

I've used paypal too and don't think that's the problem no matter what sites we use personal information what I've learned is to not answer calls from unknown numbers or texts either but to call my bank first

Oh, man. I'm so sorry. We had a patient at work that this exact thing happened to. They got into all of her accounts. It took her a bit, but she got it all back. I've been getting a lot of weird money requests on paypal, so I think im gonna close it. Temu worries me, and i would save a lot of money if i gave that up for sure. I feel so bad this happened to you. It has gotten so bad out there. Scammers every where. Exactly! I work with military veterans and have seen several of them come in SO depressed because they fell for this sort of scam and lost a lot of money to it! Even famous guy Andy Cohen got scammed out of millions of dollars by a similar scam and he came on a morning news show to share what happened to him because he was stunned that if he fell for it then anyone could and he wanted to share with as many ppl as possible to help keep others from falling for this. I’m so sorry Kim! In this day and age, getting scammed is always something to be afraid of. I’m not trying to be a downer, but I do suggest closing and deleting your account. I did so earlier in the spring when my kids found out I was ordering from Temu. They insisted on it. There are many reports that their parent company has already been found guilty of selling customer information. When I closed my account, I also asked for confirmation that it had been deleted. I got it, but who knows? I still get weird emails and texts which I send to junk email immediately. I block all suspicious texts and I never answer my phone if it has an out of state area code. It’s sad that we have to be so paranoid but that is the world we live in. Please don’t blame yourself, these scammers are relentless vultures. Sending big hugs!

Awe Kim, please don’t feel dumb- they’re really are so smart - I’ve had calls with the number and ID of my bank - that was NOT my bank. They are SO SAVY - if you get a call from your bank, hang up and call the number on the back of your card - they can spoof any number Sadly family members have fallen prey- You are a smart woman who was scammed- you are still just as smart and bright! I am sorry that that happened to you. Thank you for the information. One time some years back we got a bill from a credit card company that we really didn’t use anymore. The charge was a very small amount like three dollars plus. I called the credit card company and they said they will charge a small amount to see if you pay attention and then they’ll charge a large amount. So be careful if you have cards you don’t really use

I get calls and texts all the time. I deleted Temu from my tablet, phone, and text messages. My friend told me my number is already on the black market and I should get a new number. I did delete Temu because I am not buying any crafts right now. I don't watch Temu hauls anymore but had to find out what happened. I am so sorry you have had this happen to you. Have a blessed week

I’m not retired or over 60 but I got a call the other day that was very suspicious. He first asked me for the expiration date of my credit card then he asked me for the entire number of my credit card and I told him I didn’t feel comfortable giving him that so he said give me the last 4 digits so I did then he slipped up and said your credit card with chase has been upgraded to 0% upgrade I don’t have a credit card with chases and he said what’s your credit card bank I said you tell me and hung up he almost had me. But you have to pay attention to the spelling and grammar of any text because you can also caught them like that. I’m so sorry you went through that but they also target the disabled to and no I can’t even after Temu lol right now so they just target people everyday don’t feel bad Gods got you. I have been getting a LOT of "unknown number" calls, and if I do answer it is always someone with an accent I hang right up. I read that you never answer them with "YES" or "NO" to ANYTHNG because they record your voice and use it to hack into your accounts that way as well.

Yes, many companies have had a security breach, but those companies fix their security (until the next one). From what I heard, Temu has nothing. Can’t tell you how many people have been scammed, suspiciously from using Temu. Don’t beat yourself up. It can happen to anyone. That’s why these scammers are still in business.

I finally had the time to call and verify it indeed was a scam, but I was convinced based on the information he had on me.😳. I hope that your bank is able to recover your funds. So sorry that happened Kim. I have never had anything happen like that with Temu or paypal. But you just never know anymore. I went on to pay a speeding ticket on line my husband had gotten. Paid the ticket thought everything was good. Website looked just like the DMV website. About a month after got a letter from the DMV saying they were going to revoke my husbands DL if he did not pay. The money had went out of the bank so I called to the court house and some how they make a copy of the DMV website and keep it up for a few hours then take it down. She said by the time people find out its past 30 days and they cant track it back to who did it. They shut the site down within a few hours. When all was said and done a 200.00 ticket cost us like 800.00 which is nowhere near the amount you lost but it happens and I am not over 60. So they get people everywhere. They are good and now with so much internet stuff they cant track it.

Sorry this happened. I have a separate debit card I use for anything online and my banks offers different settings. I have my card set to a small amount. I only keep money and this debit account for purchases. It’s separate from my main account. I have never had a problem with PayPal.

Kim, that happened to my ex 2 yrs ago, he got all of his money back. Someone got the card #, and went to Vegas and had a blast on my exs dime. They won’t target me cause I have very little in my savings and less than $50 in my caking acct.I am so sorry that happened to you. Prays they can refund it. Banks do have certain refund policies for these situations. PS, wonder where you get the bases for the pens and pokey tool, those are so cool.

I always call my bank right away. I can't tell you how many times I have had to replace my bank card in the last year or so. I hate that this happened to you! I had someone hack my email and started ordering from my merchant accounts linked to that email. Unfortunately, I had my card stored on these websites so it was easy for them. However, I check my bank account daily so saw the pending charges and called the merchants to report I did not order and was able to stop them. Now periodically I get threats via email trying to blackmail me. Changed all passwords and now pay via PayPal on all accounts. Be careful ! Scammers are everywhere!

they tried something similiar with our checking account when we were out of town for our SIN's memorial...husband got a text from what he thought was the bank saying that they detected fraud....he got up with the actual bank and got it all straight but we had to go through canceling our debit card for the 4th time!!! I don't do paypal and as I have told you I don't temu....no telling what info the chinese have on everyone that uses it...I have a debit card that I only keep about $150 on for online purchases....this was the one that tried to make a large purchase with...haha! I know they were highly disappointed because of the low amount available!! It's good to share things like this...I am so sorry this happened...is there any chance to get any of your money back?

The reversal scam is around as well targeting seniors. They use PayPal and Amazon as the reason and hack your computer or phone. They are scum. Don’t feel stupid. They are manipulators. I’ve been watching a KZbin channel called Scammer Payback and seen what the hackers do. Nice haul ❤

I think it's all ok as long as you don't do what I did which is to fall for a phone call and text that were fraudulent

I’m so sorry this has happened Kim. Temu is notorious for selling their customers data, some ppl some speculate that the whole reason for their cheap prices is to get customer details. I hope you reported it to the police! Can the bank not get it back?

I got scammed by pay pal email, my mistake I called the number at bottom of email. Don't ever do that!!! Now I get emails foward them to (ill send info).
