This is powerful teaching. Abel learnt how to give to God from his father Adam even though it is not written in the bible. The book of Jasher depicts this as so. So in agreement with Prophet Elias this would mean Adam had gained knowledge of how to give to God and practiced it and his son saw him doing it and did it with a pure heart.
