Mustafa Abad / Dharampura Lahore |

Dharampura (Urdu: دھرم پُورہ), alternatively spelt Dharmapura, is a neighbourhood located in Lahore. The Mughal emperor Akbar laid the foundation of this colony for Hindus as an alms-house in 1583.[1] After 1947 Partition it was renamed Mustafabad but is still locally known as Dharampura.
Dharampura sits on the western bank of the Lahore Canal, between the Walled City of Lahore and the Lahore Cantonment. It is a largely working class neighbourhood.[2] The area was largely populated by Hindus and Sikhs prior to the Partition of British India.[3] The locality is also the ancestral home of Sushma Swaraj, who was a lawyer in Supreme Court of India and the Minister of External Affairs of India.[4]
Baba Sain Mir Mohammed Sahib, popularly known as Mian Mir or Miyan Mir, was a famous Sufi Muslim saint who resided in Lahore, specifically in the town of Dharampura (in present-day Pakistan).
Mustafa Abad Bazar is more popularly Bazar as know Dharampura Bazar is the main Bazar in Lahore, Punjab. Pakistan. It is a famous food bazaar in Lahore like Gawalmandi. It is also well known for groceries and cloth. There are around about 500 shops.

Its still called 'Dharampura'. Google maps would show it with some other name, but local transports such as bus stops still know it as Dharampura. Local shops also have Dharampura written in front of them. Dharampura used to have golf ground park, but since then a huge 5 star hotel located next to canal have taken its place. There is still a huge railways ground(s) for cricket, hockey, basketball etc known as Griffin Ground, which is easily accessible for locals. Dharampura is located in the heart of Lahore, with easy access to Mall Road, Fortress Stadium, Cantt, Allama Isbal Intl. Airport, Lahore Railway Station etc. Also Imran Khan's Zaman Park is also near by (walking distance from Dharampura). It's such an old area of Lahore that people who live here have houses that are multi generational going back many decades.
