He is right. Meena Kumari,s father belonged to Bhera and was classical singer who went to Bombay to work in films. He could not reach silver screen and earned his livelihood by singing for theatre. During theatre days he met and married a close relative of Rabinder Naath Tagore. I'm forgetting name of that girl . Any way she was converted to Islam before Ali Bakhsh married her. They had three daughters including Meena Kumari. Her real name was Mah Jabeen. She started working in films as child star. Meena was Muslim but her mother had converted to Islam from Christianity. Though initially her mother was from Hindu family and Meena,s Nani had converted to Christianity to marry her grand father who was a Christian.

I have always felt that Kamaal Amrohi USED Meena Kumari. !He had no wualms in askingher to complete Pakeeza even though he knew she was on her death bed !In fact he may have encouraged her drinking because she became dependent on him and he had psychological control over her!There is a video of Amrohi's daughter lighting agarbattid on Meena's grave!What a hypocrite !The whole family was living off Meena Kumati's earnings throughout her career and when she was dead an outsider paid her hospital bills !Where was Amrohi then? And where was this daughter of his ? Now she lights agarbattis???Those agarbattis should be shoved up !!!

MeenaKumaris Mother is from Hindus Brahmin family ,so pls dont give religion color to your video clip .Baiju Bavra was veiw by 90/ Hindus from Hindustan. that's reason the cinema got golden jubilee. In Pakistan the movie was failed. In India it was appreciated.

sorry she was not born in Bhera. She was born in Mumbai. Her mother name was originally Prabhavati. Her grand mother name was Hem Sundari. She was not Muslim , she was combination of Hindu and Muslim.
