Misha Charoudin posted a video this morning, as he lives at the Nurburgring. He stated on 8/7 there was rain that morning and parts of the track may not have fully dried. Having been to the Nurburgring on 2 occasions, I was astonished by the elevations changes (1000ft) and temperature changes. At different parts of the track it can almost feel like 3 or 4 different seasons in the same day. We don't have a track benchmark of this scope in America. But 6:57 was still outstanding. I'm curious to see if sub 6:50 will be achieved in the Spring.

Watch Misha Charoudin's reaction. He has hudreds of hours logged on the track and many in mustangs. There was something off about the car even admitted by him. It coasted around almost every corner, never gassed until pulling out. It was VERY slow in the straights and missed a crucial driving line in foxhole that added 1 second. Dirk Muller the driver said it was a dryish track and hot that day. I believe the car has 6:40's in it. You can tell Ford did NOT want this video out there! I think a lot of people tend to overlook the fact that to even attempt official records on the ring is extremely taxing in adjustments, money and time. I could be wrong but my understanding the GTDs rear suspension at minimum differs from the GT3, of which has only had a season to dial in. I saw many people confusing the B-roll footage where the track was noticeably wet thinking that was the actual sub 7 time video. Also, I noticed in that full video that he seemed to be exercising caution (modulating throttle and lighter inputs) towards the final 3/4 or so of the track. l, which myself, as someone who is not a professional race car driver trust his judgement as someone who is. I do agree fully like you said that there are at least a few more seconds left on the table. Tin foil hat time now but I almost wonder if a much faster lap was actually completed and not to be released (or released in a favorable situation) if the latter happens to beat the upcoming ZR1s time.

But again, curb weight is huge so come on Ford! Release the curb weight!! We all know the weight of the GT3 racecar, but not the GTD! This is the missing equation and Ford knows it as we all do! Yes, I have an allocation but I am not planning on giving it up and you should also think about it before you lose the allocation. And besides, who of us will drive this car on the Nurb?! I will be at Sebring, Daytona, Homestead, Watkins Glen, VIR, ATL and maybe Roebling Rd. We have a delayed order and just received our allocation window of April-September of 2026! I grew up watching Ford racing and Ford Mustangs same with the GTR’s. I am a through and through auto enthusiast, especially for high-performance sports cards. And even though I feel like if price was no option, the GTR is the best platform for anybody to build an exotic sports car/hyper car killer and has the racing pedigree approve it… I still think Mustang is by far one of the best sports cards ever created and I think that Mustang is by far the best platform price wise that anybody could get to build an extremely high and exotic car killer or just sports car in general. I truly knew Mustang could do this and I truly think the Mustang is by far the most underrated tuning platform/from the factory sports car platform that is affordable for anybody to buy and build however, long it takes. But I will say it’s probably just because I truly think Ford is the best car manufacturer out there when it comes to creating the Mustang and they have the racing pedigree to prove it and their skills at building an award-winning race car… with that being said, I was extremely disappointed that again Ford decides to leave so much on the table and break a record that is going to be easily broken. The ford GT should have had at least 900 wheel horsepower! Especially for costing as much as it does what a slap in the face that they only gave us 600! They can’t bring cost into it. It’s built off of another FNV6 platform. ! With zero reliability issues for the most part people are driving around in 1300 wheel are 35 GTR’s that have twin turbo V6. So it’s been proven for like the last 15 years almost that that somebody especially like Ford with all the knowledge and programs they have to build a very reliable between nine and 1000 hp V6 engine. The Mustang is a freaking V6 platform that competes with the best in the world!. I have felt like this and known this from day one. So I’m a bit disappointed how long it took them and the fact that they only gave that thing 800 hp what an effing joke! Especially it being a rental platform it’s apparently already heavy even with the carbon fiber stuff they did to it that car should be putting down at least 900+wheel especially with all the freaking arrow they have on it. I know it’s not all about power, but unlike most people most car companies, they made sure that car can handle and it has the downforce. 185 to 190 on that the Nurburgring straight is nowhere near fast enough to get to the GT two MR or even the GT three MR I don’t even know if it will have enough to get to Mercedes spot. And it’s not that I don’t think you can I know I can! But I also know the suits at Ford care way more about money than the brand and racing heritage of the GT and the Mustang. There are multiple spots on that track that the Porsche and Mercedes hit over 300 km an hour before the straight. Ford knows they can easily add an extra hundred to 150 hp and it would have no problem hitting the 300 km an hour mark where it needed to. Meanwhile, Chevy don’t have a problem, putting out a mid engine thousand horsepower, lighter weight monster.

@evergreenfire509. The Ford GT supercar was a homologation car for IMSA and WEC racing. The street version had 647 horsepower. The last version of the Ford GT was the Mark IV with 800 horsepower. In 2016 the Ford GT won its class at LeMans and two years later the street versions was selling for basically double its MSRP. The GTD is basically a homologation of the 550 horsepower IMSA Mustang GT3 except Ford increased its horsepower to 800+ and added active Areo and suspension along with other special performance components. I believe the handbuilt, limited production Mustang GTD will become a collector performance car as well. When it comes to GT racing. Having more horsepower doesn't make it a better Racecar...

@zeekot4064 i prefer high revving, NA cars like my GT350 honestly. I'm only getting the GTD because I'm a huge mustang/ road course track person so it's the HALO car for both of the those combined

@@THEDriverMod_ i love those sounds as well, but idk i love the mean sounding V8s . That mean growl…. Btw I’m not even a ford guy , but my bro works for them so they’re kinda growing on me lol

@@mustangmike3830 i would have definitely withheld my allocation if it didn't beat 7 minutes

@THEDriverMod_ Talk about it per title. I'd be very interested in knowing why? I agree with what u & Misha said overall, but coming from someone who has tracked Mustangs for over 10 yrs and cannot afford a GTD, I really don't think u should sell your allocation. It is going down as the 1st American car to post a sub 7 min., if u can afford one of these AND have an allocation, u r among the few and many of us would love that opportunity...but just my opinion. I'm just a guy...

Why do you say that?

The GTD has more to show us Anthony! Don’t give up on it yet. And Porsche has been doing g this for years and the Americans are giving them a run for their money. Can’t wait to see everyone getting their 2025’s! Keep it Anthony!!

@FastRace-tz6wt i don't plan on getting rid of it yet, I'm not as impressed as I thought I'd be, 5-8 seconds quicker makes a world of a difference though! I got my windows too!
