It’s also irrelevant to these Roo videos as it is my own personal spin on the story of the show. These two parts alone took a lot of time and effort and I'm quite burnt out atm. BUT this story will be continued in a fan fiction in the near future. These videos are actually snippets of a larger Hazbin rewrite series I've started on ao3--the first part of which, covering the eden lore, has chapters already available now! (fic is called called 'death to paradise' in case you're interested!) I am planning on releasing the parts of this series in timeline order, however, so this part of the fic (somewhere post season one), will take quite a while to get to. Rest assured though, once it's out I WILL post a link here! But to tide you all over until then, I thought I'd explain the context of these two parts!! if for whatever reason you want to wait until I publish the fic, feel free to skip past this comment :) So, without further ado.... You remember Charlie and Alastor's deal, right? A "favor any time at his choosing?" Well, all of this starts because he finally cashes in that favor. Alastor discovers an ancient power strong enough to break him from his deal with Lilith, and conscripts Charlie to seek out that force for him, since it resides in a section of hell sinners cannot access. Charlie ventures into a land known as The Depths, the deepest part of Hell where this power is imprisoned. Said power, known as The Root of Evil, is the only being in hell that can break soul deals, since she IS an embodiment of the realm itself (this is a more convoluted piece of my lore that I won't go into too much detail here. you get the gist). Roo cannot free Al, however, so long as she too is bound in chains. Charlie, a being of both angelic and hellish blood, has enough power to break Roo free. She does so, on one condition: Roo must free ALL sinners from their soul deals, not just Alastor. So it's freedom for freedom for freedom. Roo agrees, and when Charlie frees her, part 1 takes place, and part 2 shortly after. Remember that snap at the end of part 1? That's Roo freeing all sinners from their deals. She didn't actually have to kill any of the people she did in part one, but hey, she IS evil. Charlie was left behind when Roo was freed, knocked out cold, hence her absence in part 1. for those of you who stayed till the end of part 2, the bonus scene takes place in Roo's prison in the depths, now with new captives. What happens from here? well, once I post the fic (which again, won't be for a WHILE but hopefully not toooo long haha), you'll find out ;)

Not quite sure what you mean, but if you’re asking if this is a prequel, it’s not! This takes place directly after the first animatic. I’m glad you liked the bits with Lilith-her potential as a character is one of my favorite things to explore in this projects!

I'm glad Alastor is free!! But what was Vaggie saying to Alastor?

Basically along the lines of “did you know about this? Why didn’t you do anything to stop her, like how you helped us before? Where the hell is Charlie? What did you do to her?” She’s enraged that her distrust of Al was proven right and that Charlie might potentially be in danger.

Tell me, is Alastor `bad` here? Will he betray Charlie? Or will he go to rescue her because he probably knows where she is, right?

He’s definitely an antagonistic force in this version of the story, using Charlie’s trust of him to his benefit in order to gain freedom. He does know where she is (after all he basically put her there haha), but he wouldn’t rescue her. I’ve interpreted Al thus far as a power-hungry manipulator who is using the hotel and Charlie’s trust to his own benefit-these videos are a manifestation of that concept. So yes, definitely a bad guy LOL
