the explosion is not from Muzan , I mean why he would do that as demon king lol , it will just hurt him in the process, he is a demon so he would just killed, decapitate, and devour Ubuyashiki and his family. I can tell it is the master's doing, blowing himself up just to be able to hurt Muzan enough while luring all hashiras together to come and fight Muzan in his weaken state, apparently Master's brilliant plan is not good enough as those hashiras along with other lower rank demon slayers got dropped into the infinity castle.

Ufotable's storytelling is underrated. This is what all those scenes with the infinity castle in prior seasons and earlier in this one were for. It is one thing to show this on a manga panel, it is another to completely capture the motion of it and then have that impact hit the audience at the right time. A lesser studio would not have bothered with the setup because it was "too complicated" or extravagant for "just a setting" before it was absolutely necessary. But Ufotable understands that Infinity Castle is a character unto itself, an enemy that the demon slayers also have to face.

The trilogy only covers Infinity Castle. Muzan's fight isn't in it. That's it's own arc, but still happens in the same night. Muzan's fight is too long to cram in a film, so we might get a season for that. But no one fights more than one Upper Moon in the IC.
