Tcha Limberger Kalotaszeg trio: én vagyok a falu rossza

Méra, in Transylvania, used to be considered the center of Hungarian folklore. It lost its luster after the disappearance of its ancient master violinists. Fortunately, Belgian violinist Tcha Limberger and bass players Rudy Toni & Rudi Toni Jr stepped in, in order to perpetuate this musical tradition. The Trio sings and plays hajnalis, heart-rending secular lamentations, as well as legényes, traditional dances reserved for men, and characterized by a fast tempo.
Kalotaszeg’s folkloric music is one of the most beautiful of the Hungarian heritage. The Trio has sublimated it by adding minor refined, sensitive chords to he original pentatonic songs. A musical task that bore unique melodies and surprising chord progressions. Tcha Limberger, a member of the most famous gipsy family in Belgium, learned the Kalotaszeg style from the famous village musician Sándor « Neti » Fodor, who came from Transylvania. With his knowledge and his genius, Limberger made us discover the riches of his culture during this exceptional evening.
