An outstanding and iconic track from back in the good old days. Such a simple melody which ingrains itself in your brain and stays with you for hours after each listen. Great to hear the story behind it, thanks Twan! One of my favourite clubbing memories ever involved this track and it's one of the few things I can actually remember from Ibiza 1998. I was in Es Paradis, Storm was blasting out, and as the track kicks back in at its peak all of the water fountains/jets erupted in sync which of course turned the dancefloor into more of a swimming pool. I felt like I was in the opening club scene from Blade albeit with less vampires and water instead of blood haha. Good times though!

I love him saying about starting a new label to get away from the lack of feedback from labels when submitting tunes. Been there myself. Even if they don't accept signing your tune. Its nice to hear why not and constructive criticism

I love Stella, such a great track, always reminds me of past trips to Ibiza. Storm and time to burn were amazing harder sounds for the popularity of trance music in the late 90's- early 00's and I would say there remix of age of love was pioneering for dance music. As for there storm name it has to be time to burn by a pip over storm!

Thank you! During my stay in Frankfurt I did 3 interviews with Jam El Mar; I decided to pick 3 tracks from 3 different projects. For the Jam & Spoon interview I picked “Stella”, since that was their big breakthrough. The “problem” is that they did so many great tracks, so I could easily pick 6 or more tracks I would still love to talk about with him. Maybe one day 😉 But the “Storm” one was the last one from the 3 interviews I recorded with him this year.

Nice informative interview. Good insight by the legend. Storm was definitely a unique project. I liked many tracks from the album they released. I liked their alias names, Trancy Spacer and Spacy Trancer. I thought that was cool and unique. "Love Is Here To Stay" is my favorite Storm tune. I actually did not like the title track, "Storm," right away. Initially, I didn't like the repetitive melody because I got a headache listening to it. But eventually, the track grew on me. However, I liked their follow-up to "Storm," "Huri-Khan," right away and prefer it much more over "Storm." The new Jam El Mar remix of "Storm" is da bomb. 🙌🏽🔥 Nice to know about the collab infos that Rolf provided. I sure hope his and M.I.K.E. Push collab happens someday in the near future. That would be great. I was also under the impression that Rolf and Kai Tracid were working on a collab.

200th 'like'! Pity Time To Burn was not discussed as his catalogue is so huge and he had other projects to document but I understand as Storm came out before it but I'd argue TTB was better/bigger or at least more successful commercially but I do remember hearing 'Storm' on a CHART double CD (lol) in the UK in 1998 when I just passed 11 and did like it then even if it was a bit weird sounding to me then. Rolf is certainly a gentleman, seen him in other interviews before. Great stories about Mark Spoon too, rest in peace.

I hope I can do an interview about “Time To Burn” another time. For this time I was able to do 3 interviews with Rolf, so I did pick tracks about 3 different projects. “Storm” was the first track from this new project, so that’s why I did pick this one. There’s still like 5 more tracks I would love to talk about with him, but I have to make choices sometimes as you might understand 😉

@@muzikxpress It was a banger and exactly what I loved at the time so not surprising you would want to cover it in interview too! Got high in the UK singles chart which was mentioned I think. @@muzikxpress Great to hear that. I'm not familiar with the total Jam/Spoon catalogue apart from the few big ones but Age of Love won't be beaten ever. Although it is a remix (but I think many assume its the original as it is so iconic) you should cover it a little next time unless you did in the previous ones but I have bad memory....and Time To Burn of course as you said yourself. Good luck with that and others artists.
