But in both instances we can say say he's just trying to talk about his innocence (Note how he sings 'nalekula ala' and then combines when singing it the second time 'nalekulala') 1. He regrets his current standing, way of life. He wasn't like this growing up. He was an innocent boy, but now he's lost. 2.A second interpretation, talks about his sexual innocence which regrettably he no longer has. He was like a flower that hadn't yet been plucked. **Generally, the whole theme of the song is about regret and remorse, which we all can relate to some extent. Right now, he's that washed musician that has gone 'crazy'..people will appreciate his lyrical genius and music only when he dies😢
